Given their breadth in contemporary design selection, I wanted very much to like Unica Home. Unfortunately, I'm never doing business with them again.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
I ordered several sets of flatware through the website, with an estimated delivery time of 1-4 weeks. Six days after I placed my online order, I received an email from a Unica sales person saying that because this is a special order item, I'd have to pay 50% now and 50% upon arrival. That's fine, but why did it take SIX DAYS for anyone to even look at my order? I should've received this no more than 24 hours later. Thanks for adding another week to my wait time!
During the 4 weeks that I was waiting for my special order items to arrive, my credit card account with which I purchased the flatware had to be closed due to fraudulent activity. I knew Unica would try to charge the remaining 50% to that card, and because I didn't want my order held up or compromised in any way, I sent an email to the sales person who originally contacted me, explaining the situation and asking her to call me for a new card #. After several days with no reply, I emailed her again. Another few days went by, and I called Unica, explained the situation, and I was told I would be transferred to the person who could help me. I got that same(!) woman's voicemail, and I left a voice message. Naively, I expected that would get a response. Several days later, I got an email from another person at Unica saying that my items had arrived but my credit card was declined. Um, YES, I tried to tell you that!! Finally I was given a number where I was able to speak to an actual person and got that straightened out.
DELIVERY SPEED:
I gave her my new card # on a Thursday, and my order was shipped the following Monday. I received the items on Thursday.
ORDER ACCURACY:
I received the correct # of flatware sets.
OVERALL SATISFACTION:
I am just thankful my interaction with them is now over. I am never shopping there again. I refuse to support a business with such awful customer service.
When transactions are in the range of hundreds or thousands of dollars, a business needs to take better care of its customers.
