Five years ago, when I gave birth to my oldest daughter, the travel system concept was just getting really popular. We had been given an infant set(with detachable base) as a gift, so we just bought a regular stroller. Bad Move!! We woke the baby every time we got out of the car to put her in the stroller. You know how you have to get in and out of the car with errands!
When the time came for baby girl #2, I decided to purchase the travel system, regardless of the cost and need to purchase a larger carseat after 20 lbs. I did alot of research. I STRONGLY recommend testing out the stroller of your choice in stores!!!!
I decided on the Evenflo Easy Comfort Plus Travel System for many reasons. First, price was important although I was willing to spend more than usual. The 'cheapie' travel systems looked too flimsy and did not offer enough features. The Evenflo Easy Comfort Plus Travel System offered the most features for the price range. Second, my husband and I checked the maneuverability of the system. This is very easy to steer in and out of small store aisles, and my husband was once complimented for his fast reflexes when driving it through a crowd! It was so easy to pop the carseat in and out of the base and onto the stroller. No waking baby up to run errands! The carseat pops onto restaurant high chairs and grocery carts. In addition, my husband was able to steer the stroller without bending over. He is 6'6 and I am 5'8, so this is extremely important to us! We found out the hard way with the last stroller. Finally, we liked the cupholder feature, spacious basket, the removable bar pad and detachable tray for the baby's bar. The cupholder feature also has a tray area that is great for storing extra pacifiers, keys and sunglasses. You can choose whether you'd like the soft cloth bar for the baby to hang on to, or the tray for your older toddler to play with goodies. Great price, great features package. This has been very sturdy for us. My 5 year old climbs all over it, when the baby is not in it. It holds both her weight and gymnastics fine. We plan to keep this system and use it for our next baby!
The cons are more difficult for me to write about. There are so few! The Evenflo Easy Comfort Plus Travel System can be a bit awkward for a smaller person to heft in and out of a trunk. If you have a minivan, this would not be an issue. It is also a little bit difficult to get the seat liner out to wash and I would have liked a liner with more padding and the built in removable newborn head support. I could take or leave the one-hand steering option. I would rate that feature as marginal.
To sum up, we are very pleased with this purchase! The Evenflo Easy Comfort Plus Travel System was not the cheapest in the market, but I feel it was/is the best value for the dollar. The features package is awesome and it is a very sturdy stroller. Go Buy It!
