Reggie Mantle was on bass guitar, and Jughead Jones was on drums, not the other way around. Also, Veronica's last name was not "Lake", but "Lodge". Also, Reggie's voice was provided by John Erwin.

You write so well, even about a cartoon '60s bubblegum group. Awesome work, as always!

That is so cool that you know a celebrity like that and he sounds like a cool guy too! I've always thought he had a great singing voice. I never could figure out why he never released any singles on his own?

Ron,

Nice job here.

I can also tell you that Ron Dante is a heck of a nice guy. I've exchanged emails with him and he's a real class act.

Don :)

You are my JAGUAR-DoooooooG, and you've got me loving you!!!

Thanks for more great memories!!!

One of our neighbors (who was about 12 or 13 at the time) was talking about being in this popular hang-out of our time that was called The Jumbo Restaurant, and how this song was playing on the jukebox.

This couple was sitting at this table (probably drunk), and, when the refrain came on, the guy picked up the sugar dispenser and started pouring it over his girlfriend.

Then, the owner burst out of the kitchen and started screaming "Out! Out!! OUT!!!" as he chased them out the door.

Cathy thought that was the funniest thing she'd ever seen going on in a restaurant.

I had it bad for this teacher named Dave Bos around the same time, and he was coaching baseball practice around the same time that I was driving this obstacle course for driver's ed.

Because, I was paying more attention to Dave than the stakes, I ran into one of them, and my driver's ed. teacher told me that, if he'd been standing there instead of that stake (which was about four feet high and not just like some dandelion growing out of the ground), I would have run right over him.

I wrote some parody of Bang-Shang-A-Lang that I no longer remember all of the words to, but part of them went:

"I saw him from the corner of my eye-yi-yi!
. . .My car went 'Bang-shang-a-lang". . ."

The song also reminded me of Dave, even without the driver's ed. disaster, because it described how I felt everything I would see him or think about him!!!

You and he live in the same state, btw, unless he's moved. Last I checked, he did. Anyway, no matter what state he lives in, he's been in the holy state of matrimony for over 30 years! LOLOLOL

Besides, I've moved on--but memories of a high school crush will always be precious ones, this being especially true when they involve somebody as special as Dave Bos!

Laters!

Nobody ever says "I wannabe a junky when I grow up".

It just kinda happens.
