Being the little computer geek that I am, it would be an unusual day to find me without a flash drive around my neck and/or in one of my pants pockets. Recently great evening of Texas Hold 'em poker my friends and I all decided it would be great to jump into the jacuzzi for a bit. As I hit the water I looked down at something floating in front of me... OH GOSH... OH S#$*%#.... Before anyone could figure out what has me so alarmed I was back out of the tub and rushing to the house to check out what bad luck may have just befallen me. Fortunately I had the cap on the drive which for me is unusual. Luck was swinging my way. I decided to open the cap, found no water and felt that I would let it all dry for 24 hours before trying to find out if I had just lost a customers entire Quickbooks backup. BIG OOPS. After the longest 24 hours of my life (at that time) I plugged the drive into my PC. It detects...I'm getting happier... It loads...I'm almost ecstatic and I see and copy the their files safely to CD. I'M HAPPIER than a kid in a candy store at this moment! Hallelujah! I'm saved and Super Talent is now my hero!
Flash drives are awesome I use a variety of 3 or 4 of them in my everyday activities working on PC's. I store on them all my diagnostic and repair software and installers for programs I have to load repetitively. I couldn't really function the same way without them these days. But I must say that I now have an absolute favorite. I've dropped this drive, almost fried it in a machine with power issues and now swam with it, and yet like a Timex it takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
I'm sure part of the reason this drive is so hard is due to the rubber casing surround the drive. My Nspire 2GB drive failed to boot after one little crash to the floor where this flashy little gizmo goes on undamaged.
I'm not going to go into all the details of what a flash drive is, most of us know those mundane details by now, but the specs on this one are as follows:
* A stylish and flashy black rubber casing with red and yellow flames. A cap and connection for necklace style adornment.
*Compatibility with USB 1.1 and 2.0
*Dual Channel Flash Memory Architecture
*Hot Plug and Play
*Supports Password Protection
*Needs Drivers for WinME & 98 (available online)
*LED Indicator
*Capacity: 1 GB
*Dimensions: 23 x 69 x 11.5 mm
and for me and my clumsy self ... A lifetime warranty!!!
If you are in the market for a small (to me 1GB is small) flash drive this is the one!
