It seems that I spend most of my waking hours on the computer. Between my job as a programmer, and my hobby as an Epinionater, I'm pretty much constantly on the computer. And I'm a fanatic about my computer equipment. If I'm going to spend all my time with it, I want it to be clean. No dust bunnies on the keyboard, no caked-on stuff on the mouse, and no smudges on the monitor.
So, I use spray dusters to keep the dust away. But for sticky messes, I use Endust for Electronics Antistatic Wipes. I use them on all of my electronics: the monitor (even the flat screen plasma), the keyboard, the mouse, and even on cd's and dvd's. With its main ingredient of alcohol, it safely cleans all of my equipment.
What is it?
This is a pop-up can holding either 40 or 70 wipes. When you first open the can, you need to remove the lid. Inside you'll see one continuous roll of wipes. Grab the one in the center of the role. Push the end up through the plastic hole in the center of the lid. I use a pencil for this step. When these pop up cans of wipes first came out, the plastic wasn't nearly so flexible and "forgiving" as it is these days. Many a finger was snagged in those old cans. The new cans are not too bad, but old habits die hard; thus the pencil trick for me.
Once the first wipe is pushed through the hole, you can put the lid back on, and unless a wipe tears, you should never have to remove the lid again. That's because as you use a wipe, the next one pops up for you. You simply open the tab in the top of the lid, and the end of the next wipe is ready to be yanked.
How does it work?
Once you remove a wipe, simply use it on your electronics. The wipe is a nice size (5.5" x 7"). A single wipe can be used on a lot of dirt before it either dries out or tears.
When the can is fresh, the wipes are always nice & moist. They do a great job picking up dust, and scraping off the "gunk" that tends to accumulate. The surface dries very quickly, without streaks. The fact that the material is static-free is very important when dealing with delicate electronics.
Sadly, once the can gets a bit old, the wipes tend to try out. I've had to toss out many wipes because they're simply useless once they dry out. But, since I don't use them too often, the cans are always pretty old by the time I have to toss them.
Overall
This is a great product to have on hand for cleaning your electronics. I recommend going with the smaller size can if you're not going to use them too often, as they tend to dry out.
