General:
The Panasonic 42" Plasma is probably the best plasma TV out right now. I did a lot of research before I bought this TV for my new house, and everything everyone said about this plasma is true. It is incredibly bright compared to the others I saw in stores, such as the Philips Flat TV and the Sony plasmas. The picture quality on it is unbelieveable. I have the new progressive scan DVD player from Sony (NS700), and I tested Gladiator on it. The picture is razor sharp. It's really a big improvement over a regular TV.

Pricing:
I know the price is a little steep for plasma TVs, BUT, it has significantly gone down the past year. In addition, buying from online retailers can save you a HUGE amount. You save on tax, which would have ran me up to $800!! I got my 42" plasma for $6500!! Shipped to my door. HOW? Well, there was a promotion a month back for Dell.com accessories... 20% off AND free shipping over $100... The price at Dell.com was $8500. And Dell.com does not charge tax to shipments sent to California (where I live). So if you are in the market for a plasma TV, I would suggest you do a lot of price matching from online retailers.

Furthermore...
Recently the Panasonic 50" came out, and that one should be good if you are looking for a bigger model. It should run u about 10 to 11 grand. And the NEC 61" is out!! I have no info about it expect that it will run around 20 Grand.
