I really like the way you've written this! I have both the James Taylor and the Eagles DVDs and I agree with you 100%. Even when played through budget equipment (Like mine), they both absolutely sparkle, particularly the James Taylor DVD.

Bjork's VESPERTINE on DVD-A - not only is the 5.1 surround sound UNBELIEVEABLE, but listening to it in enhanced bandwidth DVD-A format on a reference quality system is absolutely breathtaking- her vocal prowess is just incredible -- DVD-A and SACD or the next best thing to the digital tape...truly remarkable, and a great way to put a system to the test with incredible bass hits, transients and vocals which will be adored, if heard on a real system.

And if you like U2, there's an amazing 'Elevation Tour Live From Boston' DVD - Dolby Digital 5.1.. and one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Seems good to me for testing one's sound system with.
A great list!
