Re: yup - THANKS GARY (Reply to this comment)

Yes I loved all you mentioned. Those Hai Karate commercials were really great and many years ahead of their time. What's really funny is every time I go into a store, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Eckerds, K-Mart, Target or any other I almost always find myself looking for it on their shelves. Either they stopped making it or I just can't find it in the South? It was my favorite smell for Mens' Cologne.

As an 8 year old, I was old enough to take a lot of this in. The Hai Karate commercials were the first thing that struck me. Batman ruled, so did the Monkees.
This is worth at least 5 VH´s, but I can only give you one.

OK, so I'm not so notable, but I did enjoy this fabulous read about the year I was born in.

1952, etc. (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
How about doing the year of my birth (1952), when my folks were born (1917 and 1922), and when my folks got married (1947).
On February 24, 1966, Johnny Angel turned 18. This was also the year he graduated from high school and started college.
Of course, I didn't even know that he existed back then, but I certainly had my share of studmuffins that year when my folks and I joined Uncle Finley and Aunt Marce for a road-trip through Mexico, and all of these guys were flirting with me (and vice-versa).
My favorite of all of the guys was an Acapulco cliff-diver (17 years old) named Ignacio Sanchez.
I often wonder what he's up to these days.
Has anybody ever heard of him?
Laters!

I'm glad you are enjoying them. They take about a week of research and typing to put everything together. This one on 1966 was a real bear as I wanted it to be my best yet being my favorite year. I hope to have more?
