An S-Video cable is something every PSX/PS2 owner must have!

Written: Jul 17 '01
Pros:10 times better picture than A/V Cable; Great investment.
Cons:Cable a bit short.
The Bottom Line: The only reason for anyone not to get this cable is because you do not have an S-Video input on your TV. Outstanding graphics make this cable a must have.

At first, many people might think that the S-Video cable is something that you do not need, since your console already comes with an A/V cable. But for all of you that do think just that way, you're wrong. An S-Video cable can enhance the graphics of all your PSX/PS2 games, and DVD's by at least 50%.

The only way to utilize this feature is to see if you're TV has an S-Video input on the back of it. Most newer and larger TV's (1994/27" and above) have this input, due to the higher demand of digital quality picture. I personally love this feature, because my TV shows outstanding graphics when I play games and DVD movies, something I was missing out on with regular A/V cables.

The InterAct S-Video cable is one of the best buys you can make as a PS2/PSX accessory. It is more than fairly priced at $10, a whole $20 less than the Sony . Other cables that my friends have bought broke or split after little usage, but my InterAct cable has had no problems yet. It works the same way as any other S-Video cable would, but is priced a lot cheaper.

If you are a person that is picky about detailed graphics and quality sound, I recommend you get yourself an S-Video cable. It's just a minor step down from the best quality picture you can get, a Component Video cable, but it still does the job. If you have a Component Video input on your TV, use that. Most TV's do not use this feature yet, but some 32" and larger TV's are starting.
