The Bottom Line Who'd Of Thought! Thanks To Adam, Strumpet Delight Lives On!
This is something I wrote back in early 2000. It was sort of a dare by "someone", who didn't think I could turn the word strumpet into a recipe. At that time there was a recipe section, so I had to make it sort of legit. I kind of feel bad now! Adam (Awoolcott) found it and I reposted it. It was kind of refreshing, to see some things from my first few months at Epinions. That was a time when I felt I "belonged" here. It was good to have that for a few minutes again. So please don't take it seriously(which is why I Put in Satire). Strumpet Delight There is nothing better to me than a nice home baked coffee cake!! Bisquick has been around for years, and has so many uses, including Coffee Cakes. I have my own variation of Bisquick's Coffee cake, that I call Strumpet Delight. It is quite simple to make. You can have your Strumpet any time of the day. Breakfast is my husband's favorite time to eat his Strumpet!! Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes Baking Time: 25-30 minutes Preheat Oven to 400 degrees. Grease oblong pan well. You don't want your strumpet to stick. Pan size 13x9x2 inches. (I also use a loaf pan, or you can make muffins)Use your Imagination! 4 cups Bisquick Baking Mix 1/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 1/3 cups water or milk (I prefer to use the milk) 1 cup chocolate chips(you can add more or less) 1 cup chopped nuts (again you can add more or less) Streusal Topping- Mix 2/3 cup bisquick baking mix, 2/3 cup packed brown sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup firm margarine or butter until crumbly.(you can also double or delete this topping again depending on your preference) Mix all ingredients.(except Streusal Topping) Spread in Pan. Sprinkle With Streusal Topping. Bake Until Wooden Pick inserted in center of your strumpet comes out clean.(about 25-30 minutes)Do not overbake, you do not want your Strumpet to dry out. Strumpet tastes much better moist. Cut into Two inch squares. Serves about 24. Although in my house it serves 4 just nicely. Other Variation- Virgin Strumpet Omit the Chocolate Chips and Nuts! You can serve your Strumpet Warm or at Room Temperature.... Enjoy! This recipe is dedicated to my dear friend, who knows exactly why. |
