Excellent!!! (Reply to this comment)

I sure do love these autobiographies. The writers of Epinions do a fantastic job. Thanks so much for sharing yours with us. I loved it.
PS) I have a friend whose suitcases have wheels. She is gone to a different location every 2 months. I call her "the galavanter" so you remind me of her.
By the way, My daughter-in-law's mom lives in Spartansburg, she just recently lost her husband. I'm wondering if maybe you know her. Perhaps I'll e-mail you.

I think there's no question we have to think of how we all fit together and most people are good people. There are a few in every country but for the most part people are good.
Thank you

I drink about six Cokes a day myself, 'cept I go with the full flavor. I must have inherited my Mom's "iron stomach" because I've yet to have a problem. But then again, there are decades for me to go...
I love what you said in #20 about thinking globally. I am kind of learning in my own way how to be proud of being an American; it just bothers me when people speak of being proud of it as though it were some kind of accomplishment on their part. It's more of a blessing than anything else. But it does make me proud to be a part of planet Earth, where for the most part, the beings are fundamentally good.

So Much Wisdom & Beauty!!! (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
There's so much wisdom and beauty in the thoughts you've shared here, and I tend to agree with you about what's important to God, because it's right there in the Bible and right out of Jesus' mouth!!!
That was a sweet lesson your granny taught you about why people should go to church!!!
As I read about your life, I could almost see it playing out as a movie with a wonderful soundtrack, and I could taste everything from steak to plain ol' home cookin' in my mouth (messages from my senses due to what you'd written)!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!
Hugs!

Did you happen to be in on covering that Tornado of '75 there? Threw my first car thru the neighbor's living room and buried my little sister in another neighbor's basement (she's ok).. actually, that neighbor was a reporter for the Omaha World Herald.. what the hell was his name.. hmm... had a son named Jonathon.. Taylor? Tyler? We lived at Wentworth at the time in a townhouse.
What memories.

Brenda Star, girl reporter, that you patterned yourself after. That's a full life . . . and I'm glad you entered mine. I had a chance to interview for the gay paper I worked for and turned it down. Just think, I might have interviewed Cher and lots of other gay-friendly stars that pass through Milwaukee. That was a great list and I'm glad ta know ya!

A stones throw from my home in NC. I too am Catholic and credit God for all my good fortunes, and the bad ones were usually when I refused to listen to Him. I know He always answers us, I just have to realize sometimes that answer is NO!
Wonderful review, thank you for sharing it with us, I knew I liked you for a reason, now I have 20

You didn't mention that when you decide to quit something, like smoking and drinking, you do it on the FIRST try. That's what I always tell people that I think is amazing about my mom, because I don't know anybody else who has done that.

Dear Lois~
I must hear more about these interviews......perhaps over cocktails? Would you like to take The Howard Street "L" just for old times? Have I told you that my husband went to Northwestern as well? His MBA is from there. After reading this wonderful story about you, I may just have to call you my Georgia Peach! Can't wait to meet the real thing!
Fondly,

I'm so glad you read this first. I wondered where you were. I missed you for awhile.
Well, I don't have to get up in the morning at least for two weeks.
You and your family are close like my children and I. I'm glad our paths cross.
