Fantastic presentation. I loved reading this. And no, I didn't know this much about you before reading this.
Horrible, horrible about your dog. My heart broke trying to feel as you must have felt. What a terrible thing - I couldn't imagine it. My husband came home from school & found that his dad had shot his Springer, for no reason. He's never forgotten it!
Loved learning about you.
Thanks so much,
Lorace

You're one swell chic. I also had a dog named Skip, a beagle, as a toddler, but can't remember him except from pictures. He died from a ghastly accident so maybe I blocked it.

This is the 2nd? mm, looks like I've missed out on the first one :( But I'll find it, definitely :) A great W/O, isn't it?
Kristina, you are one of those people who always make it better.
I think you're a treasure, because one actually gets to meet people like you really seldom. Sometimes one doesn't.
Thank you for being with us and for sharing your love!!

Some Things in Common... (Reply to this comment)
by divad23
2. My first memory is of being two years old and in Straight Creek, Kentucky. I was at my grandmother's house (really, a shack). By the way - she had no indoor plumbing, just an outhouse. All water was found to be in a well, accessible on the front porch. Anyway, I remember leaning over the railing on the back porch and my grandmother pulled me back, and told me to be careful. I peered over the edge and saw that it was a long way down into a field of weeds. That's my first memory folks.
Interesting... my first memory is being 2, standing on a stool to reach a light switch, having it tip over, falling and ending up with a bleeding lip, and being chastised by my dad. There's something about the threat (real or perceived) of getting hurt and being chewed out by our elders that sticks with us, apparently.
7. In fourth grade, I started taking guitar lessons from Mr. Koczergo. By the way, he was massively good looking! I learned a lot from him and six months later, I was able to play and sing in mass. I did that for four years and it was the most connected I've ever felt to organized religion.
So you learned in fourth grade what I learned at age 23? Sheesh. Oh well, just goes to show you that praise songs are a great way to learn the guitar because most of 'em have like four chords total.

The first word that came to my mind after reading this was, DRIVEN. And you've proven it with your substantial contributions, here at Epinions.
I don't think I can even count as high as 789.

about the gay guys... (Reply to this comment)
by emptywishes
my best friend has some sort of reverse gay-dar (well, I think it's been rewired since then heh, but still). in high school, all guys that she fell for ended up being gay. and her first college boyfriend would not give her the sex... (we're still not sure on what the verdict with him was, but still, how many college boys do you know that refuse sex?). poor chica.
luckily she found a good, straight one about two years ago and things are just wonderful for her now :)

There is so much I can relate to in your life--the bad shag haircut, the lessons, etc. But this is the best, "I would give my worst enemy the shirt off of my back (as long as I had a bra on). " That's too funny and so true for me as well!
Thanks for sharing.

Purple is a great color! (Reply to this comment)
by bonniesayers
My bedroom was purple as a kid growing up. In my third grade class the prize for math quizes was a lollipop or ice cream and I was one of two who got the lollipop. The teacher would dump our desks over when we were wrong and the guy sitting next to me got held back. I was so scared I would have to endure another year of that teacher.
In the third grade I was embarassed to hand out cupcakes so put them in the bathroom and the teacher found them.
I was always the one smoking in the girls room.

reminded me of when I was in elementary school. They placed me in a "special class", that I thought was for "stupid" kids. Ironically, most of the students in the class, including myself graduated with high honors from my high school. For some reason, that stays with my memory.

All the time I was in high school, I wondered why nobody I asked out would date me. Almost 8 years later, almost all of them have come out as lesbians...one of the few experiences in life I can count as both frightening and comforting at once. :)
Good read.
