Here is one to cheer you up over that abusive ex of yours:

Also my condolences on your loss! It sounds like you have found some positive steps to help yourself heal. I didn't know you were so close to my area. I live in Boston. I also have a mean caffine addiction - 4 cups a day or more depending on what is going on in my life. I like your approach to dealing with telemarketers(brilliant). It was nice reading about you. Who knows maybe we have bumped into each other offline and never realized it.
Great article!

The Next Reality Show? (Reply to this comment)
by beesquare
Holey Moley! In your life story you have all the elements of an opera... maybe two or three... and Italian, too. Unfortunately they are not cranking out the operas like they used to. So that gives me the idea for the next reality show... each week a new opera that really happened: love, betrayal, suicide, mysterious potions, and loud singing! Anyway, I enjoyed your posting in a horribly fascinated kind of way, and I hope you are not mad at me for having a bit of fun with it... one has to laugh so one doesn't cry, right? I mean well. Meanwhile, on the advice of my trusted advisors, I am holding on to my day job.

Teri, you have endured some terrible things very well and turned them around to become a great influence. You have much for which to be thankful.
My sister has a similar problem with attracting psycho men. :-) There are guys out there who aren't nuts, just as there are women who aren't crazy. Stay true to the better ways and things will work out in the end.
You have so much going for you. Live well and share it with others. The impact we make lives on through others.

into your life. I found myself sharing some of your experiences...my little brother Mark committed suicide when he was just 26 and as you know and have experienced it can be tough to understand and live with.
I suffer from anxiety also and it seemed to magnify after Mark's death..they finally have it straightened out with medication.
My daughter was born on October 23rd also:)
I guess I was destined to have a shared connection with you!
Welcome to my WOT.

Charmed to meet you! (Reply to this comment)
by voxpoptart
Definitely an intriguing list. #4 reminds me intensely of me, thus proving that i am paranoid: bizarre bad events do not seek me out, they seek me _or Teri_ out. Now i know!
On the other hand, #7 (i think?) has nothing at all to do with me, except that if i were to work two jobs at once for a long period, i might turn into a knife-wielding drug addict after a while. Just as well if i never need to find out.
cheers,
-Brian

Dear Theresa: Thank you for such a frank and impressive list of pertinent facts in your life.
I am always amazed and impressed by how many Americans are on mood balancing medications. It suggests that aspects of our lives in this democracy must be unsettling.
All the best in your life.
Regards.

Check Out Bobbo428 (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
Check out bobbo428 and tell him that AJ sent you! I know that he's already had two special women in his life named Theresa, so might as well make it three!
Who knows? Third time might be the charm!
Seriously, he's a really neat guy, and I think you'd enjoy reading him a lot.
Sounds as if you're a survivor!
I had no idea that they were still murdering people (using suspicion of being a witch as an excuse) after all of those years in Salem. I thought that had ended during the 1700s.
One of my e-pals (an intelligent and sweet high school senior) is really interested in this, so I'm going to e-mail the URL to this piece to her.
She has a website devoted to this time in history, but I can't remember the URL to it right off=hand.
However, I'm sure she could tell you.
Warm Fuzzies--
AJ :o)

Teri,
I'm so glad I didn't miss this one. It was a fascinating read all the way through. Don't EVER say you're not a writer. You are. and a good one, at that.
It hurts so much to know how others have been hurt. I wish we could all absorb just a little bit of everyone's hurts so no one would get more than their share. And I think you have.
But, like you said, it's helped make you into the strong, interesting, much-in-demand person that you are! May all your future bumps be only those pesky things they put on the roads to slow us down.
Your timing for the trip was perfect when you think about it. Glad you weren't there for that horrific storm.
Yes, I'm glad you're here on Epinions and I pray your dreams all come true!

Telemarketers beware! (Reply to this comment)
by lllopez
That is a good one!! LOL I usually start talking in Spanish or tell them I really want new windows and put them on hold. My record is 22 minutes to date. My neighbor & I compete and are on the honor system but all thats come to an end as we are getting a no-call law!
You remind me of a friendI have. She's got a great sense of humor and had a similar background with the husband and she got out and blossomed as well, all the while getting into interesting situations!
I enjoyed reading your essay a lot.
