I got this printer in my office a couple of months ago. I'm the only one who uses it, so I got the cheapest Laser Jet I could find - this was it. I didn't want an ink-jet, and I didn't need anything more heavy-duty.

It is great. It prints amazingly fast - 15 pages per minute, with no waiting time - it heats up instantly so the first page just appears.

The print quality is terrific - clean as a whistle.

I have a perhaps misguided tendency to recycle by always using both sides of the piece of paper (waste not, want not...) which is supposed to be terrible for paper-handling machines, but the 1200 hasn't batted an eyelash.

Paper loads into a tray that sticks out - to reload, you can take the cover off, or just finesse the paper in under the cover. Single things like letterhead or envelopes can go on the top of the tray.

I had one glitch - one day a little plastic bit inside popped out of position and the paper kept jamming - we spotted it with a flashlight and pushed it back into place - everything's been fine since.

Installation was a breeze - I use a Windows 98 machine - hooked up the printer to the parallel port and was off.

I'd buy it again in a minute.
