Item Purchased: Full Size 3" Memory Foam Mattress Topper from healthyfoundations.com
It has taken me a while to get online and leave a review for this company and item (bought a couple of months ago), but I PROMISED myself that I would eventually, because I don't think I've ever been so pleased with an online purchase - and that's saying A LOT! But now that I've "road-tested" the item, I can give an even more comprehensive review.
After trying out a family member's foam topper, I decided that I MUST have one. (Mine turned out to be 100 times better, btw!) I started with a basic Google search, and Healthy Foundations was one of the top results. I checked them out, and was very impressed with their SUPERIOR website: very informative, helpful, and plainspoken. But being the savvy consumer that I am, I spent a few days poking around on the internet reading reviews, information, product specs, etc. With all of that information in hand, I decided to go back to one of my first finds, Healthy Foundations! :)
Things that impressed me:
website layout and design: easy to navigate, VERY informative, honest, personable... I can't brag enough about this site. You feel like you are buying from a real person at a business, not a mega corporation or a slick salesman. I honestly feel like Brian @ Healthy Foundations wants me to get the best night's sleep possible, not just make a buck off of me.
selection: Although there aren't varieties of brands offered, the items for sale there are really hand-picked for their superior quality and value. For every item they have available, the website really explains (in detail) why they decided to carry that particular brand, and the benefits and comparison of that brand versus others that might be available elsewhere.
quality/price: I read in another review that these items are a little expensive (altough worth it), but I have to disagree. I did A LOT of research on the subject, and for that quality, with a ONE YEAR warranty(!!), it just doensn't get any cheaper. I know that you can get a similar item cheaper (my dad bought one at Sam's for about half the price), but you can't even compare that item to the one I got. The density of the foam is FAR superior. Plus, you have to be cautious of the cheaper items, because they might not be 100% memory foam (it is very common for them to be made with partial foam filler.. resulting in not as much 'memory' effect.) I haven't had this topper chemically analyzed or anything, but I've tested A LOT, and it seems to have more of the "memory" effect. Plus, I went with the 3" foam for various reasons, and the cheaper toppers you see are usually advertised as 2", but are in actuality only about 1 3/4". Also, something to take into account is the FREE SHIPPING. If you are ordering off the internet, this is something alot of ppl don't factor into the total cost, but these puppies are HEAVY (around 30# I believe, but don't quote me.) The average shipping cost from other online retailers was anywhere from $20-$40, but Healthy Foundations ships for FREE! The item was also shipped VERY nicely in very sanitary vacuum-sealing and sturdy packing box. The box was soo small, that I was a little worried when I got it, but when you open it and
CUSTOMER SERVICE!!: It doesn't get any better than this, folks! I placed my order a day or two after Xmas, so I wasn't surprised that I didn't get an immediate order confirmation. But after 2 or 3 days, I started getting a little antsy, so I dropped them an email to make sure they had received the order. I expected (hoped) for a quick email back, but they actually CALLED me to tell me that the order was rec'd, that they had closed a few days for Xmas (completely understandable), and when to expect shipment (VERY quickly). Not only that, but they called me AGAIN when the item had shipped. I can be high maintenance, I know :) and they seemed to take this into consideration with those phone calls to rest my mind. Those little things go a LONG way with internet shopping, which can be a little intimidating at times. I think what impressed me the most was that, even though I didn't buy one of their highest priced items (like the full mattress), it was still a big purchase FOR ME, and they treated it like that.
Sleeping on this mattress topper is like lying in suspended animation. There are no pressure points. And keep in mind, my mattress underneath is kind of old, and not even that great... But you'd never know it. When I decide to buy the full mattress, I will MOST DEFINETLY be going back to Healthy Foundations.
Well, I know this is a VERY long, VERY wordy review, but I just want to impress upon anyone interested how UTTERLY, THOROUGHLY satisfied this very hard-to-please consumer is. Everyone I know now calls me the Healthy Foundations spokesperson, because I'm so firmly confident in this company and a tell EVERYONE about it.
The only downside I can tell you about this mattress topper is that you may have to kick ppl out of your bed, because they never want to leave. I've come home to find my roomates asleep in my bed a few times, believe me. :)
