Better yet, everyone whose browsing session is interrupted by one of these popup ads while browsing a legitimate website should send an email objecting to the use of popup ads to the webmaster and advertising manager of the website.

Banner and other display advertising on websites is a legitimate way to support the cost of those sites. However, popup ads create a whole new browser window that the browser user does not call for or expect, thus taking control of the browsing session. The X10.com website offers a cookie that will disable X10.com popup ads for 30 days. Try it--it does not work. You will get X10 popup advertisements again the very next day.
