| brenda5008's Full Review: Cricket Communications Mobile Phone Service in Mem... |
I really just had to write an opinion on this phone service. I do not own a Cricket phone, and there's a very good reason.
I have many friends who jumped at the unlimited plan Cricket had to offer in Memphis for one low price. I have observed their frustrations and have been lucky enough to avoid doing the same.
Cricket offers 29.95 a month for unlimited calls. It actually ends up being about 40.00,if you want voice mail, and even more for call waiting and other options.
When a friend of mine got a Cricket phone,I was excited to be able to get in touch with this busy person no matter where she was in the city.
It soon became obvious that Cricket is a joke.
Nine times out of the ten I would call her,I would immediately be sent to voice mail. When she could get her phone to actually send a call through, she would say her phone had been on the entire time.
I have to know,no matter how little you're paying, what kind of convenience is that supposed to be? The phones Cricket offers have terrible batteries, the phone takes all night to charge and about an hour off the charger to be dead for the day. You can barely understand what the Cricket caller is saying because the reception is so bad.
This friend of mine finally cut her service off, frustrated with the customer service and the service in general.
Not long after she had her phone disconnected, another dear friend got hooked up with Cricket and called with her new number. Her situation is the same, she literally can only talk on her phone at one spot in her house for it to ring and not hang up on her caller. When we talk,it disconnects about every 10 to 15 minutes.
I was at her home last week and used her phone to call my mother. It took about 4 times to get the call to go through and once it did,I wondered how my friend could stand this phone,I could barely hear my mother and thought we had been disconnected numerous times.
After about 10 minutes we WERE cut off.
Someone told me that the reason Cricket has so many reception problems is because all of their towers are not up yet,and should be completed in this area over the next two years.
My question to that is,if you aren't ready to satisfy the promises you make to your customers, why open your service to the public?
The buzz in Memphis is that Cricket is useless. It's been discussed on the radio, and a representative called to challenge the callers comments. She was calling on a Cricket phone. Her words were unidentifiable, and she was cut off by her phone in the middle of her conversation.
I thought that said it all for me,I will stay away from this service,at least until they get their business together.
If they head to your town,be sure to discuss with someone how ready they are to serve their public before you purchase this service, they seem to make promises they can't yet fulfill.
