| storywriter's Full Review: Mohegan Sun |
Mohegan Sun was built a couple of years after Foxwoods Casino opened. You can find Mohegan Sun in Southeastern, Connecticut in Uncasville.
Living in Southeastern, Connecticut I live about fifteen miles from each casino. When it comes to which one that I have visited more, it would have to be Foxwoods, but most of my friends prefer to go to Mohegan Sun.
Mohegan Sun is not as big as Foxwoods Casino, but they are expanding and building a new hotel. There are four entrances to Mohegan Sun: Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall.
If you are hungry you can visit their buffet where they serve numerous choices such as: prime rib, turkey, pork, salmon, salad, desserts, country potatoes, pizza, pasta and much much more. The buffet will cost you approximately $13.25 for each adult. Besides the buffet, you can choose from a food court or a small number of restaurants to dine from.
In the Wolf Den, you can enjoy free music and entertainment while you gamble. Peabo Bryson, one of my favorite singers, was in the Wolf Den a little over a year ago entertaining. I would have like to see that, but apparently I was not the only one, because there was a huge line out the door waiting to get in to see Peabo.
For machines, you can find a number of slot machines: quarters, fifty cent machines, dollar machines and then their are the high roller machines. I tend to stick to the quarter machines. My latest favorite machine is a bingo type game, where I really only need to drop one quarter in at a time. Besides machines, you can also find tables where you can play: roulette, black jack, poker, the money wheel and many other table games.
For shopping, there are a few gift shops that you can visit. I would probably not buy anything in there gift shops, however, since everything is over prices. One of my friends last night wanted to buy cigarettes and was charged over $6.00 for one pack of cigarettes. I am not a smoker or condone her smoking, but that is like highway robbery. She must have needed cigarettes pretty bad to pay $6.00 for one pack.
As for getting lost in Mohegan Sun, I guess you could. I never have because it's not as big as Foxwoods. You can easily find your way at Mohegan Sun, whereas Foxwoods, you could get pretty lost.
