Plain White-Ode To A Piece Of Paper
Apr 18 '03 (Updated May 27 '03)
The Bottom Line Paper... Yay!
Plain White
What is this sheet of white?
It's made from trees, that's outta sight.
We use it everyday or stationary purposes,
And yet always there when we want to write.
We use it for faxes, printers and scanners,
A friend to the pencil, made for booklets and banners,
But how can this be; is this even right,
With a little piece of usable white?
It looks like paper,
It smells like paper,
It even tastes like paper,
But that does not matter,
It's there when we make mistakes,
It's there when we correct them,
It can be ripped to shreds,
But it can't hurt 'em.
The paper cuts we receive,
When the paper gets angry,
It has emotions too,
Thrown away, it grieves.
But what do we know about this piece of ordinary,
That makes it so unbelievably extraordinary?
We just use this paper for whatever we want,
We get what we want and that we got what we sought,
But I end this Ode,
To leave the questions unanswered, that's right,
Please take the paper as one-in-a-million,
All Right?
