I have found that Ziploc Storage bags in the gallon size are worth their weight in gold. These bags have a zipper closure, and are the strongest ones out there I have found. I bought a box of 20 for somewhere in the $2-3 range.
Each bag is clear, and the zipper is pink and blue. They measure 10 9/16 by 11 inches each. You can buy the gallon size in 20 or 40 count packages. The quart size storage bags come in 25 and 50 count, and the 2 gallon size come in a box of 12.
Experience
I have found these are useful just about everywhere in my home. In the kitchen, they are great for marinating meats, and they dont leak, tough enough for you to rub the marinade into the meat, and have a very tight seal. Also, I use them to store food, such as salad, barbeque, and bread.
These bags can also be used to store things; I use mine to store accessories for Barbie dolls, puzzle and game pieces, markers, crayons, and paper. Also, my preschoolers school uses these a lot for their projects- like when they glued sugar to their S shapes, they get sent home in one of these bags to avoid a mess. Also, since I had to send 2 changes of clothes to school for her, I was able to use a 2 gallon bag, and it held 2 pairs of pants and socks, and 2 shirts. These bags also have a handy spot on the front where you can write on them, so I was able to put her name right on the front. I find that it keeps things contained and organized.
Also, these bags are great for when you travel. I often put shampoo bottles, lotions, toothpaste, etc. in one of these so if it leaks it will not get in anything in the bag. And the quart size holds a toothbrush, because I find that those toothbrush holders are too small for mine.
So all in all, I highly recommend these, there are coupons out there every once in a while, they are durable, strong, and have a tight seal. The best out there, in my opinion.
