I absolutely love NetFlix, it is the next best thing to owning all of your favorite movies on DVD, I’ve been a member of NetFlix since July of 2000 and I will be a member as long as it exists.

The Concept

The concept is simple; you get to keep from two up to eight DVDs out for as long as you’d like, for one low monthly fee. I have the NetFlix Service Plus Plan and in a good month, as I watch the DVDs and send them back, I get to watch six or seven movies in a month. It used to be $19.99 a month, but now it’s $24.95 a month, the price is still well worth it for the convenience. The best part of all? The postage is paid, the mailer that your DVDs are sent in can be used to send the DVDs back, the postage is already on the package, I love it.

Value For The Money

I recommend that you try it for about three months and based on the reliability of your mail service you can pick the level of service that fits you. You can also base it on how many movies you think you will want to see in any given month. Personally with my work schedule four is about all I can handle and if I really like a movie I will hold on to it longer.

When you consider the late fees, let’s say I watch seven movies a month for my 24.95, that’s only $3.56 per movie with No chance, ZERO chance of any late fee ever. Plus it’s on automatic pilot, I have a list of over 386 movies in my NetFlix rental queue, I get to pick the movies I know that I will want to see and when I send one DVD back they send the next movie on my list.

Customer Service:

I have only had two experiences where I had to report that I had not received my DVDs and they promptly sent out replacements. As you will see on the list below Angel Blue and Almost Famous were the two I never received. There were a couple of occasions when my credit card was not charged, with one call I was able to resolve the issue and the customer service representative was friendly and efficient and the movies continued to flow.
