This service is a waste of money, and the customer service is horrible.

I signed up for Rhapsody in July, hoping to expand my mp3 collection. The main advice I have if you are planning to use Rhapsody is: don't do it!
First of all, yes you have access to many songs, but be aware that you pay $15 a month, and this only allows you to listen to the music when you are hooked up to the Internet (you are not actually buying the songs with that monthly payment). In order to download the songs, you still need to purchase each song or album separately. There are many other programs out there where you can purchase your songs without the monthly fee of $15 added on top.
Second, I tried to cancel 3 times. The first time, they convinced me to stay and gave me a free month (which was very nice of them). The second time, they told me that my membership was canceled. They gave me a confirmation number, I uninstalled the program and did not use it again. But the next two months, they still charged my credit card, despite calm phone calls and polite complaints. Finally I called and yelled at them. They claimed that they never told me that I had canceled my service, and that they could not refund any or part of my payments. I have now (apparently) canceled my service, but I guess I will have to wait and see whether they decide to charge me again next month.
And, I don't have a single additional mp3 to show for it, because I no longer have access to any of the songs I "downloaded" now that I am no longer a rhapsody member.
