Two things came to mind when I saw the first LCD monitor come out...number one I had to have it..for the space and the quality...but when I saw the price, that little dream went away. It took me over two years to finally get one, because I was hoping the prices of over a $1,000 would drop down somewhere close to $700. It did, but for the 15 inch models, and there was no way I was getting a 15 inch, when I had a huge 17 inch here at home. So, I finally find one for $800.00. I was close to buying this model, until I went on www.ubid.com and got mine...now brace yourself...$540.00! I was SO excited. The unit came with a warranty, and still has the warranty for another 8 months. When I installed the unit to my PC, which is running windows 2K it didn't automatically install the correct drivers. I think it's just the way I have my system setup, because other people said their's automatically installed. I went to their website, and downloaded the simple drivers, and had my monitor up and running. This LCD monitor does come with built in sound, but I have not connected the proper cable since I am using Sound Blaster, and already have a set of good speakers. The monitor knows to cut off after 30 minutes of non use. I have my monitor set on 1024 and the color is perfect. Now the monitor comes with all the cables you need to plug it in, but it also comes with another cable. This cable is not needed to use the monitor on your home personal computer, but it's used if you plan to use the monitor to do video capture. I don't have a need for it, so it has not been used yet. I still see these monitors on the auction website going for the same price, sometimes a bit more (700 range) but the price is still good, because according to KDS website this unit is over $1,500. I was never to fond of auction websites, and trying to get products off there with the fear that I may never get it. But this time, I took my chance. So be sure to check out the website, so you can get one like me...and LOVE IT
