| Naomi7835's Full Review: Woolite Portable Oxy Deep Pod Cleaner 0838 |
A while ago our Supermarket had coupons in it's flyer, that would double any $2.00 coupons. So I went through all of my coupons and found a few $1.00 coupons that could be doubled. One of these coupons was $1.00 off a Woolite Portable Oxy Deep Pod Cleaner.
Went to my supermarket and checked the cleaning isle, and I did find the Woolite Pod Cleaner. It was marked $4.49. So with my $1.00 coupon doubled, it only cost me $2.49. I've seen this Woolite Pod Cleaner a while ago advertised on the TV. It looked like it would work quite well on stains. Although sometimes some of the products that are advertised on TV don't work as well as they say they will.

The Woolite Portable Oxy Deep Pod Cleaner is a cleaning tool all in one. It's plastic and measures 5 inches long, 3 1/2 inches tall and about 2 inches wide, and it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. It comes with a Fabric safe brush that has small soft plastic fingers. A gentle soft cleaning pad for using on upholstery and a grooming tool that has plastic fingers also and is used to revitalize and bring up the fibers on carpets or upholstery.
The bottom of the cleaning pod also comes with a plastic cover that is used to snap on when the pod is not being used and is stored.
The cleaning fluid is in the top of the plastic pod, and is Oxygen-Activated so that it will remove tough and set in stains. The only thing is, that when the cleaning fluid is all used up, it cannot be refilled and and the whole Woolite Portable Cleaning pod has to be disposed of. I'm not too sure and I'm guessing here, but I think where the cleaning formula is stored on the pod it looks like it holds about 6 ounces of a Oxygen Activated cleaning formula.
Before cleaning any area, the area should be cleaned of any loose particles, and any excess liquid from the stain. When I use any cleaning products on my dark blue rug, I always check for fastness in my linen closet on the floor there, where I have the same blue rug. This is a good idea to check before attempting to clean any upholstery or carpeting. If it's being used on upholstery, just check in the back of a chair or sofa, in a small hidden area. If the color is affected, do not use the Woolite pod cleaner.
DIRECTIONS ON USING THE WOOLITE POD CLEANER:
The Woolite pod is easy to use. By holding the Woolite Pod in the palm of your hand and then squeezing the upper sides of the Pod, this will make the liquid come out in to the stain. Underneath the Pod in the bottom front is where the Fabric safe brush is located. In the middle of the brush there is a small hole, and this is where the cleaning formula comes out. The fabric safe brush with it's flexible fingers will help to penetrate the cleaning formula to get deep into the carpet fibers. With a gentle motion back and forth with the brush it will remove the stain. If using on upholstery, you can use the safe sponge cleaning pad to rub in the cleaning fluid over all of the stain. The sponge cleaning pad is located directly behind the cleaning brush.
When the area has completely dried then it may be necessary to bring back up the fibers on carpeting by gently going over the area with grooming tool. The grooming tool is located at the back end of the cleaning pod, and by gently rubbing the grooming brush in to the carpet, it will bring up and fluff the carpet fibers in the carpet.
Well I've had the Woolite Pod cleaner for a about 3 weeks and I did get around to trying it out on a few stains to see just how good it worked. This is a list of a few stains that I used the Woolite Pod to clean.
Coffee Stain----My husband has a desk in the living room where he sits and makes out our bills. He loves his coffee and always has a cup of coffee near his side. When he's at his desk you'll always find that cup of coffee sitting there also. A few days ago, while making out a few bills, he accidentally knocked over the coffee on my rug. He got up and blotted the coffee up with a towel. Of course he didn't tell me about it, until the next day when I was vacuuming the rug and found the area where the coffee had spilled was a lot darker then my rug. Well anyway he finally confessed up and told me what happened. He figured the rug was dark and the coffee stain wouldn't show.
This was a good chance to try out the Woolite Cleaning Pod, so I got out my Woolite Cleaning Pod, squeezed the solution out and then with the soft plastic bristled brush, brushed over the whole area of the coffee stain which was about a 5 inch area along with several spattered areas of coffee also. Finished my vacuuming and a while later I checked the area that I cleaned. The coffee stain did disappear. After it had dried I went over all the area of the stains with the grooming tool to bring back up the fibers in the rug. You wouldn't know that there was a coffee stain there at all. But mind you now, my husband doesn't keep his coffee at his desk while he's working there anymore.
And whats really nice is the cleaning formula didn't leave any residue on my carpet, no color loss and no fading either.
Chocolate Stain----For Valentines Day I had put out a dish with some Hershey Valentine kisses on my end table. That evening my grandson came over with a beautiful decorated scented candle for me for Valentines Day. He sat on my sofa and was nibbling on the Hershey kisses that I had on my end table. A few hours after he left I was going to sit there and do a little nibbling myself. As I started to sit down I noticed 3 little chocolate stains on the cushion of my light beige sofa. I new what had happened. If you have ever unwrapped a candy kiss, you now that sometimes the tip of the candy kiss will come off while unwrapping the candy. Apparently this is what happened. I got out the Woolite pod cleaner and squeezed the solution on the 3 little stains. I took the cleaning pad on the pod and gently went over all 3 of the stains. Just a little rubbing and the stains disappeared. I also did remember to check the back of the sofa first to check for colorfastness which was all right.
Grease Stains----We have a small oval braided rug in our garage that is just at the foot of 3 steps that lead up into my kitchen. This rug usually gets a lot of mud and grime built up on it. All I do is give it a good sweeping and it's pretty clean. We also found out that we were getting a snow storm that night and he was planning on checking out the snow blower and greasing it with his grease gun that day also. That afternoon I had to go out grocery shopping for a few items that I needed, and wanted to be prepared in case we got snowed in the next day.
When I got home from shopping I noticed a long skinny stain on the carpet in front of my stairs to my kitchen. My husband said that while greasing the snow blower he accidentally dripped some oil from his grease gun on to the floor. He apparently stepped in the oil stain. When he went into the house to get coffee, he did wipe his shoes on the small carpet that leads to my kitchen. He also said that he tried to clean the oil stain with which he called the "pod thing" and tried to clean off the oil stain from the braided rug. It didn't completely remove all of the oil stain, and there was still a very faint stain left. So I went over the stain again with the cleaning pod and It did remove the rest of the stain. I really think he didn't use enough of the cleaning formula to scrub the stain with, and that's why the stain didn't completely come out or either he didn't use the cleaning pod correctly. Anyway my rug is now free of that oil stain. At least he did try to remove the stain for me.
Food Stains----About a month ago we covered our laundry room floor down in the basement with a beige and green remnant rug. I remembered that we had a few good size pieces of carpeting left over. So I cut off a 7 inch square of the carpet and decided to put a few food stains on it. I poured a little grape juice on it. We had left over spaghetti from the night before, so I rubbed about a spoonful of the sauce from the spaghetti into the carpet. I even spilled a little Italian salad dressing on the carpet also. My kitchen table sits on a oval rug, and I do manage to get spills on the rug from time to time, especially when the grand kids are over. So this was a good time to check to see how good this Woolite Pod cleaner would work on these stains.
I let the stains sit on the carpet for a little while. Then went over all of the stains with the Woolite pod cleaner using the fabric safe brush. The grape stain took 2 applications, but did finally disappear. The spaghetti sauce came out real easy, and the salad dressing came out well also.
This Woolite Oxygen Activated Cleaning formula not only cleans stains very well, but I also like the idea that is has a nice clean smell to it. It doesn't have a strong overbearing odor that some other cleaning formulas have.
CAUTIONS:
I won't go into a long detail about the cautions, because most of us know what to do, if any area is affected. As you all know Cleaning products can cause eye and skin irritations. These areas should be rinsed immediately with large amounts of water. In case of accidental ingestion drink a lot of water and consult a Physician. This Woolite Cleaning formula does contain Hydrogen, Peroxide and Surfactants and should be kept out of the reach of children.
STORING:
This Woolite Portable Oxy Deep Pod Cleaner is small enough and can be stored anywhere, in a camper, RV, your car, basement, garage, or in your kitchen. When your done using it, just rinse off the pad and brushes, and place the plastic cap back on the pod and it's reading for storing.
MY FINAL NOTE:
I really like how well this Woolite Portable Oxy Deep Cleaning Pod does remove tough and set in stains. It's a portable handy all in one cleaner that's easy to use and store. Even though I did use the Woolite Cleaning Pod for cleaning several stains, I still have a little cleaning formula left in the top of the pod that I can use for a few more future stains that I do get. I figure that this Woolite cleaning pod will probably clean up to 8 or 10 stains, depending on how large the stains are.
Because this Woolite Pod cleaner isn't refillable, I will be buying another Woolite Cleaning Portable Oxy Deep Cleaning Pod again. This is the best and easiest way that I've tried to remove stains from carpeting and upholstery and I've tried many kinds of cleaning products. I'm very satisfied on how well it works and I do recommend it for cleaning all of those small stains that we all get from time to time. After all, who wouldn't like a carpet cleaner that takes the hassle out of spot cleaning.
Happy Stain Cleaning!!
