Revenue (Reply to this comment)
by beckish
Tickets are revenue. Part of every police department's budget is revenue from tickets; so the more tickets they write, the more revenue they bring in. An unfortunate fact in today's world. And yet another example of how we are guilty until we prove ourselves innocent, even thought the Constitution puts the burden of proof on law enforcement. Great review - well written. Sorry you had to go through that.
Take care and happy writing,
Becky

In regard fighting tickets.... (Reply to this comment)

in my opinion, you have a better chance if there is a question of physical fact where the officer can be proved wrong (the existence of the stop sign; the presence, for some unknown reason, of the limit line 50 feet back, which the officer could not have seen, or, for speeding tickets, the actual presence of the speed limit sign), than if there it's only a question of what the officer claims he saw.
But there's nothing in your review I can disagree with, other than that I question how internet traffic school works. I believe state law requires verified physical presence for traffic school -- e.g., the webcam that didn't work on your machine.
But I'm not going to spend the 1/2 hour required to research that.
