You should have gone with DISHNETWORK Satellite (Reply to this comment)

Sounds like you had a frustrating experience. I contracted with DISHNETWORK on a promotion where I received 4 receivers and a dual LNB satellite dish all installed FREE and 3 months of the top 150 programming FREE. It was a great deal (of course I had to agree to a 12 month contract). I emphatically told them that I would not hook the receivers to a phone jack. They politely stated that it was just so I could conveniently download their PPV movies($3.99 each). I called their customer service and they said that it was fine if I didn't want to connect to a phone line. I order my PPV movies at the DISHNETWORK website for an additional dollar and it goes to all 4 receivers for 24 hours. Ocassionally I would connect to the phone jack and order and would only get it on the one TV. Bottom line: they didn't think it was a big deal not to have them connected to a phone jack input. I was surprised that DIRECTV was so mistrusting. I am glad to read you review(excellent, by the way). I was going to switch to DIRECTV because of a great promotion, but now I will RETHINK it! It's funny that the verbage in both companies state that the receivers MUST be hooked up to a telephone line but have different attitudes about the reality. Anyway, good luck with cable. I love my DISHNETWORK system.
