Loyalty to the Epinions Idiot.
by stockholder | May 09 '03
There is nothing funny here - This title was originally “Time to say Goodbye”, but life without chatting with Epinions friends is too scary. I’m a big wimp!

... to leave a smarmy comment? Just reading through the best of stockholder, and found this oh-so-sad entry. This is the 150th comment, too, so howzabout that for reachin' out and touchin' someone?

Cheers!

No matter how much I enjoy the writer, the rule applies, If I notice you are reading everyone BUT me, I take that as a sign.

I once took my boyfriend sordid off the WOT too. It hurts, but I can't play favoritism.

Thanks for noticing and try not to be a stranger.

I personally think man boobs and farts are what make this world wonderful and are probably what Louis Armstrong sang about when he sang, "What a Wonderful World."

Anyway, you rock. I do enjoy your reviews muchly.

You know you are loved. You are mentioned in so many reviews - Darn.

Now eat your chicken breast, your no fat spinach souffle and drink a diet Pepsi. Put on some trousers and your Nikes, and walk around the block a couple of times. Then come back to Epinions and read my latest review. :D) (Even if you don't, you are loved.) Maybe a nap instead of reading and rating and commenting.

Good luck, friend

Compliments RULE! (Reply to this comment)
by treeseed
You said, "After all how many times can you hear about my gas before it stops being interesting or funny?" I, for one, will always find it interesting and funny. Not only that, I appreciate knowing someone who enjoys compliments as I do. I am known among my family and friends for saying, "I would like some compliments, please." and "Wasn't that good?" and "Don't you think I make the best pancakes (pizza, lasagna, apple pie, etc.) in the world?" When I write something I ask my family members to read it aloud to me and comment on the clever parts. I find you, my dear stockholder, to be quite modest and restrained in comparison. You must never leave Epinions because I would be sad. Too many people that I like have already left and I've only been hanging around here for a short time.

Gee. I get all choked up looking at the bland bareness of the bare blankness of the blank baldness of the bald bleakness of this banter-bereft bit o' barren bandwidth, when I think of how it might otherwise have been a buzzing beehive of blithesome, busybody back-n-forth; a burgeoning, blurb-fest of boisterous, burbling blabber, a bustling bulletin board, brimming with blabbery banter, bursting with bubbly bluster, bubbling with blustery blather and perhaps even blabbering with blathery babble, ...had you only been a popular, well-liked and regularly-complimented epimember. ...Bummer.

Hell. You couldn't recruit a good checkers game from the hits I've been getting on my posts. :*(

Dammit! I'm LEAVING!

The buddhists have something to say about the two pitfalls into which man falls in his life:

1. the need for praise
2. the fear of criticism

Suffering from both, I keep coming around this here snake pit despite many attempts at going cold turkey. The thirty-dollar monthlies don't really hold that much of a lure, I guess if I were as honest as you were, I'd confess to the same as you have here. Nicely penned, S., appreciated it a great deal.

On finding such an interesting way to get so many compliments.

I do prefer the grouch over the punk though.

Take care, a couple of hours away from Epinions each day would be good for your mind, body and eyes. Trust me.

Best regards,
Gasman

I guess you never walked in his office with your pink shorts...

I'm sure it's the same with most of us, if I gave it up here I can't imagine a tear would be shed. Just a few Ta-Ta's, sorry to see ya' go's and on to the next review.

I do like seeing the counts rise and naively believing that someone is actually considering my input on a certain product(most of my hits are from non-members).

I for one can say I've read each word of your reviews I placed my VH on and genuinely get a laugh out of many of them.

Keep on writing, just jog to the fridge and back!

...perhaps it was the references to your man-boobs or flatulence that beckoned me this way, or perhaps it was the fact that I heartily enjoyed your write-ups on your son-in-law that pulled me back to your page...or perhaps I was trying to escape the "Yu Gi Oh" cartoon that my son was watching in the other room but NEVERTHELESS! I hereby compliment you on what I find to be the most endearing quality of your writing: your honesty. The honesty in your narrative voice makes your prose come alive.

As an aside, keep scribblin' up 'dem ditties, Stock. People like you. They really like you!!

cowabunga,

Just think if this thing did not have a spell check! You would believe you were reading a different language!

As far as 4th graders stringing together better sentences, you should have watched me attempting to help a 1st grader with their homework, I think I could only get about 19 out of every 20 correct.

o well,
I can beat you in basketball, slow-poke.

Deborah,

I'm shocked that you are not enthralled with my gas. I'm wondering if you are completely aware of how complex and beautiful it really is?

As for the time spent on the computer being good for me! I'm running with that theory!

Thanks

My family too, does not understand my time here. It is addicting, isn't it? You talk about your age quite a bit in your writing. I would think that your kids and doctor would think this was good for you. They say that doing crossword puzzles keeps one's mind sharp. If that is true, writing and reading must even be more helpful. I enjoyed reading this little ditty. Why? I only had to read about your gas once! :)

My best,
Deborah~

after reading your essay, I've surmised that your initial intention was to leave. And I must admit that such a feeling, to put it in Tom Jones words, is "not unusual"... :)

I've thought of leaving for good...on many occasions. But there's that little "something" that keeps me coming back...maybe it's the love of writing...or the love of the people here. But it's something special that is probably not possible to get from elsewhere.

Making friends at this site is great, and there is just so much to learn!
