BABY STILL STUCK IN TIRE!!

The Bottom Line Use your head, follow simple guidelines & simply because they are round with a hole does not make them good!(unless their Dunkin)
Ever wonder what happened to that kid in the Michelin tire from that commercial years ago? Well you can bet if he's old enough to drive his car has Michelin tires.
Over the last 25 years I have seen hundreds of thousands of tires go through my shop.Cheap, midrange, expensive there all alike right? Not on your life!
Tire types and brands are as numerous as those dandelions that pop-up in your neighbor's yard! So how do you choose, and when do you need tires? Here's a hint : if you're at Wal-mart parked out by the flowers and you see a sign over by their service garage that says " Sale on tires $99.00 for 4 tires", buy $99.00 worth of geraniums they'll last longer!
1st: Do I need tires?Remember the Lincoln head penny trick ?
Take the penny, stick Abe headfirst into the tread if there's adequate tread you won't see his forehead, that's about 5/32" to 7/32" .If you see the top his head it's time to emancipate them. Also you'll have to check more than one spot on the tire, remember their round( or supposed to be!)
and side tread is just as important as in the middle.
Look for flat spots, if their noisy and vibrating you may need to replace them.If you see wire, it is not there for extra traction, they are dangerous replace them at once!
2nd: The best advice I can give you on what kind of tire to buy is don't rely on advertising hype.Goodyear means what it implies, they are "Good for about a Year".FIREstone, need I say more.Ask about the wear rating ,but remember there are a lot of factors involved in getting mileage out of a tire and the higher the mileage warranty the harder the tread compound this also effects traction and ride. The more aggressive the tread pattern( wider gaps between tread bars)the more noisy the tire will be.Tell your tire salesman what you expect from a tire, try to stay in midrange for best value.
The 2 best names in tires: Michelin & Cooper.
Remember they can name a tire anything they want, but all are not created equal.
