Love Method - but this let Me down. (Reply to this comment)
by court24
I have had this mop for about a year. It just broke today. A simple issue - one of the plastic knobs the attaches the base to the handler broke. I love all things Method - but next time I will get a swiffer.

compostable cloths aren't really a gimmick (Reply to this comment)
by lings
Although most people do not compost on their own or have access to a compost, by being compostable, it also means that the cloths are biodegradable. While most cloths contain plastics to reinforce the cloth to prevent it from falling apart during use. Thus, the typical disposable cloths are just filling the landfills for years before it finally degrades vs a compostable cloth should degrade within a year.

Our house is small (Reply to this comment)
by kay67
thank God, but the kitchen is laminate flooring we put down so I scrub on my hands and knees.
The big living room is hardwood floors that are old since the house was 100 this year. Anyhow I have to scrub the livingroom by hand too because of the uneven boards.
Small price to pay I guess for owning our own home. I just gotta remember to crawl around a little lighter because my left knee gets scraped up every time and barely heals before I have to scrub again.
I'm used to scrubbing by hand so this is nothing new LOL.

Thanks for letting me know you liked it, Jen! I'm glad you don't mind sweeping cloths. I've actually found them a little more useful for wiping dog hair off my one and only upholstered chair (a whole house full of leather, and yet there he sits).

Just though I'd let you know... (Reply to this comment)
by gatorgirlie
I gave in and bought it...
and I love it. It actually works better than any mop I've used in forever... and I don't really mind the microfiber cloths that much (though I would just sweep). Now, instead of having to scrub my floor every few weeks I can do it every few months (I hate the grooves in my floor).
:)
Thank you, Oh High Priestess of Method Products

I'm glad I could help! I have a buddy who bought this mop for herself and is really happy with it, so I know it's not just my starry-eyed adoration for method products responsible for the praise in this review.

I, too, (Reply to this comment)

loathe mops. The ones I've had either moisturize the floor and leave the grime in place, or they actually lift the dirtiness but spread it around instead of keeping it until rinse time. I'm moving to a new place in a few weeks and I'm in the market for a mop, so I'll definitely be buying this one! Another plus is the Method cleaning products don't usually irritate my allergies like conventional ones do. Thanks!

Mission accomplished. Courtney, Rachael, and Kimm - I really think you would like it. This was a brand new item at my Target. It's possible that they test these things on flighty California types before releasing them to the more practical states of the nation. I think it cost 29.99.
Jen - was it the Mop in a Box? Since you already bought it, I hope you don't hate it. I've discarded more mops than I care to admit.
Elzora - I went a-googling, and that Trasan mop looks really cool. It is a lot like this one. You should review it! So many people are suffering with horrible mops.

I do adore the lemon ginger cleaner. I think I'm going to do a full review of that at some point. I wonder if it works with traditional mops?

wait till we get a Target so I can buy more products from Method. I love them! Can this cleaner be used on wood floors?
My Trasan mop sounds very similar to yours and I love it!

some might say I am floor obsessed.
How much might this cost by the way? I didn't see that in the review, but I might have missed it.
Thanks :) Kimm

Ergh!!! (Reply to this comment)

NooooOOOOoooo!!
Why, oh why didn't you review this yesterday???!!!
I hate mops -- so much so that I have about five mop carcasses out in my garage because I can't get up the urge to throw them out (after spending $12.99 on them and using each about three times). So I buy a Mr. Clean mop (which, odds indicate, will turn out to be garbage) instead of this!!
:(
Oh well... When my Mr. Clean turns into the inevitable garbage it is, I will definitely check this stuff out. Only problem is that I didn't see it at our Target (Method cleaning product haven)... I'll have to research where to find it.
Sigh.

Thank You for another great review. : )

I almost reviewed this one yesterday. =) I have some of the same concerns with it as you do. I heart the Lemon Ginger cleaner, though!
