I have shopped online at cooking.com several times and have enjoyed each experience. They have a really wide variety of cooking gadgets, cookware, and other cooking items that you cant find anywhere else. I have bought some silverware, a pepper grinder, and an electric knife from there. My next shopping purchase is going to be for a fondue pot.
Just log onto www.cooking.com to get to their homepage. I found the site is very nice, and really well organized. Also, the pictures of the items for sale were well represented, and the explanations of the products were very concise. On the left side, there are categories to choose from:
Bakeware
Barware
Coffee & tea
Commercial kitchen
Cookbooks
Cooks tools
Cookware
Cutlery
Furnishings
Gift baskets & sets
Gourmet foods
Home keeping
Large appliances
Outdoor living
Small appliances
Storage and organization
Tableware
Dinnerware
Flatware
Vacuum cleaners
Clearance
Or, you can just use the handy search feature to find what you are looking for. I simply typed in fondue pots and I had a list of results come up. Let me also mention that there is a gift ideas tab, and also a wedding registry tab.
So, once I got to my results of the fondue pots they had available, what did I do? Well, having never owned a fondue pot before, I noticed the handy feature the site has of listing the pots from best selling, price high to low or low to high, highly rated- where other customers have rated the items, and by brand- (which by the way did you know Rachael Ray has her own line of fondue pots? Interesting.). So, I clicked on the highly rated tab, and then I was taken to the page where the highest rated fondue pots are. I read a few reviews, and decided on a pot, and then hit add to cart.
So, I got ready to go, I just hit checkout, then entered all the necessary info and then placed my order. I got a confirmation email after placing my order, then an email when the order was shipped, along with a tracking number. I found my stuff came really fast, in about 4 days.
Shipping is as follows (from website):
Super Saver- Approximately $4.99/first pound + $0.37/each additional pound
Standard-Approximately $6.99/first pound + $0.39/each additional pound
Express-Approximately $8.99/first pound + $1.00/each additional pound
Next Day-Approximately $20.99/first pound + $1.00/each additional pound
Prices
Prices at this store are give and take. I did feel like I got a good deal on the silverware I bought a while back, it was an 8 place setting set for $69. But, on my electric knife, I ended up finding the same thing at my local Wal-Mart for $10 cheaper, but I figured Wally World did not have the knife in the first place. So, it all depends. Sometimes prices are cheaper on some items, but for me, Id just as soon order it as to go to 900 stores looking for it. Its for sure a time saving effort to use this store- plus I really love all the stuff there- they have name brands such as Kitchen Aid, Calphalon, All Clad, Cuisinart. - Id highly recommend it to anyone.
