We bought this coffee maker after our other one bit the dust. This GE model looks very modern and has a lot of nice features for a smaller price tag than some others out there.

The programmable feature is a lifesaver for early morning work people who love a freshly brewed cup of coffee first thing after their morning shower. The auto shut-off is also a great feature for those of us who are forgetful and don't even think about turning off the coffee maker until after we're in the car driving to work. :)

The great cup markings on the outside of the unit as well as on the pot itself is a really nice feature. The arm that the hot water comes out of has to be moved back over the filter before the lid will close (I love this feature since I've forgotten more than once to move that arm back).

Compared to our other coffee maker, this one has some drawbacks. It seems to brew the coffee much slower. Also, the arm that the hot water comes out of which drips onto the grounds can easily be broken. Another feature that we miss is a backlight so that you can see the time in the dark.

The carafe is said to not be dishwasher safe. However, we have put our carafe in the dishwasher with no ill effects (only 3 times though).
