Thanks Gary, I only wish the Editor did not restrict me so much. Sometimes I want to be a lot more Dragonish and he frowns on such satanic displays. Oh the tribulations of writing for a small-town paper only 20 miles from Jerry Falwell's home base!

It was an incredible few days! I wasn't sure how Bill was going to take to it, his first time and all, but he is hooked and now spots pools from the car.

We will be having a 4-day fall herp trip, based at Douthat State Park, to cover the range of the Tiger Salamander and get up into the Allegheny Highlands. If you are interested in joining us, drop me an email at pamela@thedragonweyr.com We will have participants from all over the east coast but only have room for 10.

This sounds like a blast... Waders, nighttime, salamanders, frogs... doesn't get better than that! I just moved and am trying to acquaint myself with the local vernal pools and wetland areas. I'm so glad spring is here!
