Thanks for all the extra info Matt. I remember something about the coin toss incident but never heard any of the other stuff before. Thanks for all the cool info, I'm always looking for Music trivia stuff like this.

I have a DVD biography on RV. He did saw once to his mother when they passed a small airplane, "You'll never catch me in one of those things."

Buddy Holly, three weeks before going on the Winter Dance Party Tour had a dream that he was in the middle of a corn field with a ball of fire going over his head. That is really a freak occurence!

Waylon Jennings gave up his seat to JP Richardson, and one of BUddy Holly's guitarists traded his seat to RV over a coin toss, ironically the first one RV ever won.

He was one of the 3 GREATS that died in that Plane Crash on 3 February 1959 along with "Buddy Holly" and "Jiles Perry Richardson" who was better known as "The Big Bopper". Ritchie had 5 Top 100 Hits with the biggest being "Donna" that stalled at #2 on 11/24/58. I also like "La Bamba" by him as well. Yes he did have a very short career, too short for me to write him a good review I'm afraid?

I love Ritchie Valens. It's too bad he lived such a short life. He only had 8 months into his career, but had three hits songs and was in a motion picture.

I always used to sing the Oscar Mayer Weiner song like this:

I wish I were and Oscar Mayer Weiner
That is what I's truly love to be
Because if I were and Oscar Mayer Weiner
All the girls would take a bite of me!

Hot Dog Man!!! (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
I only remember one song by him, and that's Hound Dog Man--which I own.

It came out when I was not quite seven years old, and, at the time, I thought the chorus was:

"Hotdog man! Hotdog man!
I wanna be a hotdog man!"

I thought it must be about one of those vendors who sells hot dogs at amusement parks.

Anyway, I had a dream where that song was the soundtrack. Have you ever had a dream where a song was playing in the background.

Here's how the dream went:

I met this hotdog man who didn't sell enough hotdogs to stay in business, so he ended up stuffing a bunch of hotdogs and buns down his toilet and flushing them down.

He was wearing a typical hotdog vendor outfit, and he was crying while he was flushing away his merchandise.

I wonder if there is any sort of interpretation of this dream (which I had when I was in kindergarten or first-grade--kindergarten, I think) or if it were just a nutty dream. . .

That's All!
AJ :o)

Re: Fabian?? - THANKS IAN AND YOU KNOW WHAT? (Reply to this comment)
by JAGUARDOG
This was one of my hardest ones to ever put together because of his short singing career. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack to find enough information to put in it and to try to make it sound a little interesting. So it took me a few days to put together.

I never thought that I would see the day that Fabian would get a mention on Epinions - let alone an entire essay in his honor.

I saw him in concert in Australia years ago in an oldies tour with Frankie Avalon - enjoyed his Act. He's no great shakes as a singer but there is definitely something catchy and appealing about his music - "String along" is a personal favorite and for some reason I have always liked "This Friendly World".

Enjoyed your review

I stole the "Amber Alert" idea from another Member and for the life of me I can't remember who? But anyway if you want to add it to you PP it is so simple it's not funny. I know nothing about links and adding things like banners to anything but this one talked me through how to do it. Basically you click on the Amber Alert, it takes you to there site, you sign up then copy their banner link. You then go back to you PP and edit your Profile and past it and BINGO it’s simply amazing. I wish all links, banners, HTML was that simple for simpleton’s like myself?

Your knowledge is astounding. But I'm even more impressed with the 'Amber Alert'. What a great idea!
