Pros:Ease of Use, Hip Styling, Features
Cons:Unlocked Version is Quirky and Unfriendly
The Bottom Line: Pay the extra money and get the original T-Mobile version if you want this phone.

First off we own two Pebl's, one is a T-Mobile version (orange) and the other is an unbranded phone (pink). There are some pretty serious differences between the two, although they both operate in generally the same manner. Both phones have that "squishy" plastic feel first seen on the V300; it is very resilient and comfortable. Both phones have cameras, take videos, MP3 ring tones (the add-on software from Motorola to mix your own is MUST), and have that super cool pull and release "hydraulic" opening mechanism. Now for the differences...

Orange T-Mobile Phone - Phone works much the same as my Razor did. The interface is great and very customizable. You can set up your own soft keys and organize your shortcuts however you wish. I really like having my ring tone controls and volume controls on the outside of the phone. The wireless antenna works flawlessly and I rarely drop a call unless I'm going over the mountains. The camera is adequate and it’s pretty cool to be able to take and send videos too!!!

Pink Unbranded Unlocked Phone - The phone promised all the same features as the T-Mobile phone but is lacking in user interface. T-Mobile updated the firmware on the phone for us so now it can send and receive picture and video messages, but there are still annoying quirks. Whenever I get a voicemail it sends me a text message with some random characters and does it again when I call to check my voicemail. ANNYOING!!! There are not as many features as the T-Mobile version and the interface is not as user-friendly.

Moral of the story here is that I would NOT go with the unlocked version of this phone if you are going to use it on the T-Mobile network. Throw down the extra cash or sign a contract extension and get the "real deal" and you won't be disappointed.
