Pros:sharp crisp graphics, great sound, addictive gameplay
Cons:babyish graphics (in many levels) overshadow its awesome gameplay
The Bottom Line: Its your everyday average game, ruined by the babyish graphics.
I have to start off by saying the only reason I am NOT reccomending this game is because many people would be drawn away from the game because of its sometimes overcolorful and babyish graphics. So lets get straight to my ratings.
Graphics=3/5 These graphics should have been a 5/5, but I honestly can't do that because they are so babyish its like playing Elmo's Big Alphabet Adventure. Other than that, the graphics are crisp, and always smooth. Some levels are not babyish at all with fire and lava in the background, but other levels have lolipops as enemies.
Gameplay=4/5 Gameplay is the strongest aspect of Rayman Advance. At first, rayman can only jump and move, but as you progress through the game, he can punch, hang from edges, and use his hair as a helicopter to glide to safety. The gameplay can be quite addictive, but it is over shadowed often by the babyish graphics. The game is actually very challenging at times throughout the game. But, you have to keep in mind that the game is a remake of the first playstation rayman, so in that sense the game isn't fresh or original.
Sound=3/5 Again, this is another inconsistent part of the game. The sound is excellent in some levels, but horrible in others. The sound for the levels usually matches the atmosphere, on dark levels they have slow eerie music and on the bright colorful elmo levels they have happy music.
Controls=4/5 This games controls are easy to learn from the beggining, when all you can do is jump and move, till the end when it is still simple with all of the new things you can do. Sometimes it can be quite hard to jump to specific platforms though.
Overall=3/5 Its your average game that can be quite fun, that is if you don't mind people asking you why you are playing a baby game.
