half vs. ebay (Reply to this comment)

Nice review. I myself have also been selling books online but have opted for ebay (look for BuySomeBooks. That's me plugging myself, lol). I forget why exactly after comparing that I chose ebay--I think it might have been the commission price. Ebay takes only 5% of the bid price on itmes below $25; mind you that doesn't include the shipping add-on, which I found very generous of them. We compared and just felt like ebay was the better deal for sellers. And maybe buyers too for that matter. I also liked the fact that ebay lets the dealer set his own shipping price which as you mention half does not.
Anyway good luck to you as you continue selling those books! Maybe we'll unwittingly buy from each other someday.

Half.com has 4 categories of condition, with the lowest being acceptable. It would fit in with:
"Like new, very good and good are the 3 categories that are given in the book category"

I agree, I think this is a surprisingly good website. At first I had some suspicions about it, but I've had nothing but good experiences since I joined.
What I do is, I find things that sell for good money on ebay, and I buy them on half.com for about 1/3 of price, and then pawn it back on ebay. That's why I haven't been using epinions much lately, I've become an ebay junkie :)
Hey, it sure beats the 1 cent we're getting here for each page view, especially since all the good editorial topics have been wiped from existence.
Keep writing, I always check your stuff, regardless of if I'm making my own contributions!

I wanted to get my son a bunch of potty training books. I ended up doing much better at Barnes and Noble since I wanted so many books. Great review though!

I also love half.com, as a buyer and as a seller. I have gotten so many great bargains there and use their wish list to be notified the moment something comes up for sale in my price range. I think your rating was right on, they are a great site. Enjoyed the read! Suzanne

I haven't ordered anything there yet, but I know some people in a few of my college classes that order all their textbooks from there for WAY cheaper. I have priced object on this site and there are fabulous deals. I used it today to look up a science resource book for teachers. It's a beautiful hardback book that originally cost $24. It was available starting at 75 cents!!! Talk about a good deal! :)

That get-together sounds great but is cutting it close. My car is going in for repairs on that day and I may not get it back until the 6th. (big job) If I can get a friend to drive me, I shall go but she is not an Epinion member.
