When I purchased the Hamilton Beach Wave Maker it was with the intent on using it to make smoothies and milkshakes for my family. I first noticed the ice crusher is fast and does a great job without a lot of the racket I found in the blenders I have owned before. Because of the many settings I began exploring with my new blender and now I also use it to mix salad dressings and chop veggies. I love the removable section in the lid where I can add flavorings while mixing. Due to the ease of use my children can also participate (with supervision) in making milkshakes. The best part if that the glass cleans up each time just like new with a little soap and hot water. My past experience with blenders has been that they work great in the beginning and within a few months I manage to wear them out. This product is nearly a year old and still going like new. The appearance has also remained in excellent condition. Overall I highly recommend this product even when a consumer is considering a pricier item. This blender will do just as much as one that costs more and will look great after being used for any length of time.
