I'm glad to see that someone else likes to pamper their beta.
I had one several years ago thatI spoiled too. He even went on a road trip with me in a sealed gallon tank and survived a wreck.

I hated fish until we got one at work. It sparked my daughters interest, and I told her if SHE helped take care of one, we'd buy one. She is doing great feeding him and cleaning out his tank.
We did have a cat in the fishbowl-poor Neo was freakin out. He didn't come out of his house for days, but....
The aquarium I purchased has a top so the kitties cannot get their paws or any other body part in with the little guy.
He's much happier now that we have sealed him up. Ive never had a cat that liked fish before, LoL!
Oh and we are down one too-Princess, my sisters cat passed away recently. She was getting on in age. Its still sad though. Our farm is slowly depopulating :)

I'm not a fish person-per say. But you almost made me want to go get a beta and all the trimmings. However, my only indoor girl-cat Wiggles would give the poor fishy heart failure within a day.

That is so cute! Our Beta-Neo (after the matrix, LoL) isn't aggressive at al. I was shocked. But he does wait patiently for me to feed him and once I appear he does flips, spins, and fluters his fins ferociously! He's so cute!!
I never thought id fall in love with a fish! They are a lot of fun-Maybe more people will find this out and save them! Hee Hee

We rescued one from his prison cup months ago, though we've still got him in a 2 gallon, we will be moving him up to a 10 gallon soon. It is amazing how much personality our's has - a feature of this breed from what I can find in my web research. Lorenzo likes to play "grrr, I'm vicious and going to flare at you" games, knows when it is feeding time and has his little routines :)
