Why I Like Old Navy
I am a very small girl and finding clothes small enough for me can be difficult. After years of shopping in the Girls section I decided that I need to find some stores that have x-small and petite size clothing that will fit me. Old Navy and American Eagle are two stores that have small sizes and their clothing is usually smaller than most. I recently moved and there is an Old Navy store near me, but it has some great downfalls. The clothes they had in stock was scarce and employees were no help. I would find something I liked on a manikin just to find that the shelves were empty. Clothes were scattered everywhere and they were in no order whatsoever! Just a tip, put the size small shirts on the top-large on the bottom! After being at the store I vowed to never go in there again unless I absolutely had to. Thus the reason for venturing to Oldnavy.com!
Do They Have What I Want?
Oldnavy.com has a great selection for everyone including men, women, boys, girls, baby, and moms-to-be. They have just about every size imaginable. They also have a small selection of gifts that can make this a one-stop-shopping-spot! Check out the gifts for babies or get someone an Oldnavy.com gift card in all different designs. Just a few of the designs are red or blue bow, butterfly, elephant or dog bones. They are so cute! Their gift cards are available in $10, $25, $50 or $100 denominations.
Store Locator
If you are brave enough to go into an Old Nave store they do have a store locator to find the nearest retailer. Also they will show you a map which you can print out to ensure that you find the place.
Order Tracking
When you finish your order at Oldnavy.com you will get 2 emails. The first one will show that they have received your order and the second will confirm that they have shipped your order and watch for the mailman! You can track your order if you have requested that FedEx ship your order. You can go to FedEx.com and check on it periodically but it does take a while for your info to appear. If you had your order shipped by USPS you will get a tracking number included in your confirmation email.
The Worst Part
I love shopping but I hate paying for it! Luckily Oldnavy.com makes it easy for you to pay. The one that they prefer, of course, is the Old Navy credit card which you will receive 10% off your first order either online or in store. If you don’t have an Old Navy card, like me, they do accept 5 other credit cards which are: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover/Novus, and JCB. If you do not trust their Secure Socket Layer technology to protect your credit card information you can order by phone instead.
Fun and Games
For some amusement while at Oldnavy.com check out the Fashion Funway. Here you will find contests, screen savers and wallpaper, Old Navy events, and also little quizzes. You will probably find a few things of interest but I don’t spend much time here. I do like their cool wallpaper selections for my computer though! :)
Well Crap!
It is one of my pet peeves to but an item and then watch it goes on sale the next day. I love it when stores have a policy implemented so that you can get the difference back if your item goes on sale within a certain time after purchasing it. Oldnavy.com offers a one-time price adjustment so watch for a sale within 7 days after you purchase something it can save you even more money!
Shipping
Old Navy Online shipping and handling costs varies according to the amount of each purchase. I for one don’t really like this. I would rather it went by weight as you could buy a really expensive pair of jeans and end up paying a handful just for shipping. I also feel that OldNavy.com shipping prices are a little steep, especially when you realize it’s just clothes! Not rocks or something heavy!
Shipping Chart
Order total $0 to $50 = $6
Order total $50.01 to $100 = $8.50
Order total $100.01 to $150 = $11
Order total $150.01 or more = $13
Rush delivery is an additional $9. Not worth it unless you need it sooner than 7 days. Shipping times have always ranges from 3 days to as long as 8 days but never more than that. Not too bad as the 3 days is really good and the 8 days is just a little slow.
Oh NO!
If you have changed your mind about your order there is still a chance that you can change it if you act quickly. They give you this number to call: 1-800-OLD-NAVY but make sure you call as soon as possible. The reason for this is because they can’t change or cancel an order once it has already entered the shipping process. One thing that I really like is that they don’t charge your credit card until your order is shipped. That way if you item ends up being out of stock or you cancel your order you don’t have to worry about your credit card being credited what it was charged.
Take It Back
I am always getting clothes that end up being way to big for me. I am very petite and hate having to shop in the little girl section so I end up returning a lot of stuff. I am not exactly happy about their return policies but they are rather fair. First off I like that you can return your online Oldnavy.com order to a store for a refund as long as you have the packing certificate and usually some form of ID. Make sure to look at the Return By date located on your invoice or receipt to ensure that you have time to return your item. If I remember right it is about 30 days from the day your item was shipped or the invoice was printed. If you do not return it by that due date you are only able to receive a merchandise exchange or merchandise credit equal to the price paid for the item you are returning. Also beware that they do not refund shipping and handling charges and since you will be paying a minimum of $6.00 for shipping you may want to find an alternative route (for example sell your item on eBay).
Overall
I am happy with the large selection of clothes that they offer online as opposed to the small selection and disorganization that they offer in my local Old Navy. Shipping prices are a little steep for me but I can live with that. I have always got exactly what I ordered with no errors in my order and have only returned 2 things but those were my fault as I didn’t like the way they fit. I love their clearance selection and they really do have a lot of stuff on sale all the time. I hardly buy anything at full price unless it is reasonably priced.
