HELP WANTED: KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR
Schaumburg, Ill. (March 12) Make haste, brave souls! His lordship, the Count of Perelada, is in search of knights to defend the realm of Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament in Schaumburg, Ill.
Although its 1991, this knight job is real.
Medieval Times seeks candidates from the greater Chicago area and Midwest to perform the special entertainment planned at its dinner/tournament complex opening this summer. And the job description actually includes jousting, swordfighting and hand-to-hand combat.
Applicants for this full-time position need to be physically fit and possess horsemanship experience, athletic abilities and tremendous dedication, says (name deleted due to epinions.com privacy policy. Get over it, hes probably not there anymore anyway.). As a rule, knights are a fairly macho breed.
Medieval Times will feature gallant knights competing on horseback surrounded by spectators dining on an authentic four-course medieval banquet. The festivities commence within the 85,000 square foot replica of an eleventh-century Spanish castle with seating for 1,392.
Once selected, the knights will undergo a rigorous training regimen to prepare them for combat, (blank) explains.
Training begins with basics, such as proper footwork to advance and retreat in the face of battle, and sword-wielding techniques with two-handed and one-handed swords, with or without shields.
The most renowned of knightly duties jousting completes the training, which combines horsemanship with the intricacies of using lances. And, of course, our knights must follow the code of chivalry which requires loyalty, bravery and generosity, adds (blank)
Individuals may apply for knighthood by forwarding resumes to (blank ok, ok, go to www.medievaltimes.com for more info!)
The unique entertainment and dining concept of Medieval Times was created in Spain and is based on royal family history. There are two similar operations (at time of this release there are more in 2003 see the website) in Spain as well as sister operations in Kissimmee, Fla., Buena Park, Calif. And Lyndhurst, N.J.

Well, there it is. I hope you like it! As you can see, Im sticking to the usage agreement so I wont tell you the PR agency I worked for when I wrote this. You know who you are, and if you email me (see profile) I will happily give you credit. Thanks to marinermoose22 for encouraging me (in a generic everyone on epionions.com sort of way) for submitting this entry to drdeviences W/O.
If you get a chance, go see the show. It's great! At the time, the Green Knight was the one with the attitude problem, so that was the fun section. Lots of pageantry, staged battles and eating with your hands.
