Pros: no more stains, reasonably prices, easy to clean, easy to open
Cons: no problems so far
The Bottom Line: The Rubbermaid Stain Shield 10 piece set is fantastic. I have since bought a second set of 10 and am on the look out for more pieces all the time.

I am a huge fan of all things pasta, so when I prepare it I make extra for breakfast , lunch and/or dinner the next day. The woes of pasta and leftovers are simply one thing: stains on the storage containers. I have try all the tricks to get the stains out, but once that nasty orange tinted mark makes it's way into the plastic it's all over. Live with the stain or ditch the container.SIGH.......... Christmas 2005 my dear aunt came to my rescue with one of the best gifts ever, the Rubbermaid Stain Shield 10 piece set. What makes this the best gift ever you ask. No more stains! EVER! I haven't found one thing that will permeate the containers and believe me I have put in all types of things, such as, curry, pasta sauce, stuffed shells, stews, soups, fresh fruits of the staining variety(strawberries and raspberries), and many other food items. Not one stain so far!
What you get in the set
1-one pint round with lid
1-one quart round with lid
1-six quart round with lid
1-six pint square with lid
1-one quart square with lid
Description
All the pieces are clear hardened plastic. This is the stuff stuff people. Not that opaque plastic of yesteryear that won't allow you to see the goods inside. And it's sturdy! Way sturdy! Sturdy enough for a 60 pound child to accidentally step on and not crack it.
And you get lids with each piece. the lids are also mainly clear but the have a gray seal around the edges. Speaking of those seals, they work! no more burping and letting air out! Just snap the lid on and you are ready to go!
The Rubbermaid Stain Shield Containers are all dishwashers safe. The box said top rack but some of the lids were taller than my top rack allows so I stuck them on the bottom and they came through the hot wash cycle fine and dandy.Again no stains and the seals still work.
So go ahead, throw your reddest stuff in these containers, and let it sit in the fridge for way too long. I will bet you don't have a single stain that won't come out!
