The Bottom Line The best arts and crafts are made with love in mind
My wife just learned the basics of the computer and now has her own little computer and desk. For her birthday last month I got her a mouse wheel because she was starting to get pains in her wrist. My children had their gifts all wrapped and ready to give to their mom tomorrow and all are little gadgets for her computer table, a stapler, ink, etc. The best gift I think my wife will cherish is the rock my daughter found last year at the sand dunes of the beach in S.C. It is about 5 1/2 inches diameter with a smooth top and flat bottom. All year Kathy has been wondering what to do with it. Well, Wednesday she came up to me and said she would like to paint a picture of our family on it with the dogs included. Great idea I think. She painted and then I suggested she use clear nail poish to seal the painting me and give the rock a clear shiny finish. After it was dried, Kathy used the nail polish brush and did the bottom. The gift was left to dry then tonght she wrapped it in pink tissue paper and used a shoe box to place the rock in. We bought a big pink bow and now the gift is all reday for tomorrow. My wife will appreciate this handmade gift most of all that will serve as a paper weight because it was done with love. There are so many things we can make from scrap and I know the more scrap we collect, the more the children can make and I can have fun helping them and seeing their little work of art.  |
