Pros:Easy to add new hardware; Awesome tech support
Cons:USB port can be a problem
The Bottom Line: I've had computers made by Acer, IBM, Compaq, Gateway and Dell. Dell is the only way to go if you want consistent performance and great customer service.

I had previously written an epinion shortly after getting my T500 and I see that has somehow ended up in archived computer hardware reviews. I've had this system a year and a half now and still love it. The only problem I've had was/is with the USB port.

Dell customer service is the best I've ever dealt with. I had to call them awhile back when the computer wouldn't boot past the blue Dell screen. They walked me through various troubleshooting steps including opening the case and changing some settings on the motherboard. When none of that worked, they entered a work order and a tech came to my office the next day. He put in a new board and it worked. We finished hooking all of my peripherals back up and it froze at the blue screen again. Turns out if I have something plugged into both USB ports, it will not boot properly. The technician guessed it was probably a short in my scanner but I've subsequently determined it doesn't matter what's plugged in. If there is anything plugged into the port nearest to the outer edge, it will not boot. Once it's finished booting, I can plug it in and it works fine. I know Dell would come back to fix this if I asked them too. That's one of those things on my "to do" list that doesn't have a lot of priority.

At any rate, this is an awesome system. Not completely flawless but what computer is?
