"Where ya from, stranger?" . . .Epinions user-map !

The Bottom Line What is your final recommendation on Writer's Corner: General Non-Fiction and why? . . .Why indeed...
..
A comment on popsrocks' Do know, "You may be recognized!!"
essay reminded me of something that I had done on another website a long time ago.
User lambchops had commented at Phil's essay that she knew of 'VERY few writers [from Michigan writing at] Epinions.'
Which made me think 'How do you really know where anyone is from?' Other than reading their user-page. Or perhaps a random reference in an essay or review here on site. Perhaps from info shared at one of the many off-site community boards.
Another website I had in the past hosted a map provided by an internet site that allowed visitors to 'push a pin' into the map and tell others where they were from.
[Update: Already dissatisfied with the planned map. Found another hosted by Bravenet.com! Essay edited to reflect this change!]
I would invite any and all to come visit my Bravenet GuestMap by clicking through from my angelfire website:
http://www.angelfire.com/jazz/sleeper54/testing/guestmap.html
(Yes, it will take a 'copy-n-paste' and a click . . .but it will be worth it sucka...)
Update: June 23, 2003
I have changed the URL slightly, re-titled the essay and provide this list of those brave souls who have signed to date:
rice75 | rich2003dm | popsrocks | AEOakley
msmarques | drdevience | susanwhipple
lambchops | jsaunt | treeseed | AliventiAsylum
beckytcy | flamepillar | jilpie | badkittyM
Arthur.Rubin | _haggis_ | gracef
Quite an eclectic group, ehh? Boy. If this does not promote fellowship and a hearty round of singing 'kum ba yah' around the virtual campfire, nothing will !!
So check it out and 'push-a-pin' into the map. Hey, if you want to conceal your true location you can do that !!
...end of Update
I am not really interested in hits at my website. I really just thought some might find a 'visual' representation of this 'Epinions beast' to be interesting.
The map itself is a world map. A pop-up window presents a greeting message and briefly outlines the options available. Clicking on 'post' at the upper left changes the cursor to a hand holding a pin that can be placed anywhere on the map.
A left click 'plants' your flag, and opens a window where you enter your name, an e-mail address (if you like), a spot for an URL of your choice, and (of course!) a comment!
Note: there is a zoom function that allows you to, duhh!, zoom in and place your 'pin' more accurately. This is also useful when viewing a crowded region of the map.
You also can select a little icon-figure for your pin and a 'flag' for your nation of choice. Entries can also be viewed as a 'guestbook' by clicking on 'list'.
[Playing around with it, I found that all fields seemed to need something in them. You can use a couple of periods, or perhaps, in honor of our Epinions heritage, a few a a a a...]
Anyway, check it out. Be the first to add your pin. Have some fun with it.
