The Bottom Line This poem is reflective of what constitutes "living" to me, although I think it's open to interpretation. Well, definitely open to interpretation.

i need it
that i knew
but the rain is gone
and i had wished it
i am thirsty
there is nothing to drink
the dry air scratches my throat
but there is no relief for me
the grass died
i have no place to sit
the dry dirt begs for water
but there is no relief for dirt
the moss shrivels
and i flinch
i could survive without rain
but the moss is dying

when there is no rain
moss dies
and i see no reason for living

I wrote this during a period of "writer's block." Actually, it was right after my creative writing class ended and I was feeling very lost creatively and had no inspiration. Fairly self-explanatory after that :-)
