Pros: Some scents may be nice, but the Blossoms & Breeze is way too strong.
Cons: Scent overpowering, didn't get rid of odors.
The Bottom Line: If you follow usage instructions, you must use a lot for it to work, and it is simply too strong and overpowering.

| elzora's Full Review: Febreze Air Effects |
When Febreze first came out with their fabric freshener, I loved it. The scents were nice and mild, and took musty odors out of blankets that had been stored away during the winter months.
Over a year ago, when I was in my Dr.'s office, I noticed a can of Febreze Air Effects Air Freshener sitting on the counter. I figured if the Dr.'s office uses it, then it has got to be a good product. I mean, I'm sure they deal with all sorts of odors throughout the day.
Since I still have this can of Febreze sitting in my laundry room cupboard, that kind of tells ya how often I use it. Not very often. In fact, after this review, it is hitting the garbage can.
Description
Febreze Air Effects comes in a variety of scents, the one I purchased is the Blossoms & Breeze variety. The can is pastel blue and pink, with pictures of a poppy on the front. It is quite a tall can, measuring 9 1/2" high, and contains 9.7 oz (275 g). It is an aerosol spray can, but has a trigger sprayer (like a spray bottle) instead of the normal push button spray.

Ingredients
Odor eliminator, water, fragrance.
First of all, those ingredients tell me absolutely nothing about what is in this can, except water. Fragrance can mean one or many of the thousands of chemical ingredients, many of which I consider to be unhealthy and toxic. To find further information on this safety of Febreze, I called their toll free number and viewed the Material Safety Data Sheet online.
They listed ingredients as: water, ethanol alcohol, odor eliminator derived from corn, perfume, non-flammable natural propellant.
The MSDS further states that Febreze is not carcinogenic.
That is all good information, except I have seasonal allergies and do have problems with some perfumes. The MSDS did, however, state that Febreze can be an eye irritant.
Directions For Use
Hold trigger down and spray the air in a sweeping motion throughout the entire room.
Thoughts
I was disappointed in Febreze Air Effects. I used it to spray my toy room. One little boy in my daycare has pottying issues, and without going into details, it can cause some ill smells to develop. I felt that this spray simply masked odors, it did not remove them.
The odor was terrible - I started sneezing and started having sinus problems from the spray. They didn't go away until the scent had dissipated from the room, which took about 15 minutes.
The spray mechanism does not work well, part of it sprayed, and part of it dripped, falling in large droplets onto my carpet.
If you own a bird, please take precautions if you use Febreze. The Proctor and Gamble company, (makers of Febreze), has a few recorded messages on thier toll free line, one which concerns the safety of this product around animals. They say it is safe to use around cats and dogs, but if you own a bird, use caution. Birds can be sensitive to the spray, it can cause lung inflammation, and you should remove your bird from the room until all the spray has dried and the room is well ventilated. I would never spray this on a bird cage, or any pet bed.
It may like a different scent of Febreze, but as far as the "Blossoms & Breeze" scent goes, I cannot tolerate it becaused of the very strong and over whelming scent that really affected my allergies. If I happen to leave the room before the spray has settled, and walk through the mist, it definitely stings my eyes.
Before writing this review (and before tossing the can of Febreze), I gave it one more try. My initial thoughts are right on, this irritates my eyes and sinus's. It didn't do what it claimed to do, and doesn't impress me like the Febreze for fabrics does.
