My first exposure to Sirius Satellite Radio was when I purchased a brand new VW Jetta TDI. It was only a demo with a few limited channels. At first, I was frustrated with only a few channels, but did find the potential variety to be somewhat intriguing. The biggest selling point for me was when I turned on channel 101, Howard 101, to find my beloved Howard Stern. And, it wasn't like any other time I have heard him. This was his show uncensored and better than I have ever heard it. At that point, I became a full subscriber. I also found great channels like SPA73 which plays relaxing new-age type stuff and my new favorite music channel, Lithium 24 which plays strictly 90's Alternative and Grunge. Sirius also introduced me to amazing programming like the "Bubba the Love Sponge Show" on Howard101 and Scott Ferrall which actually makes sports talk interesting. Beyond the channels I mainly hover around, there is so much more! If I have a guest in the car who may be offended by Howard's antics, I can simply put on some commercial free, smooth jazz and make them think I am refined.
In addition to having Sirius in my car, I also have the accompanying online account so I can rush inside and get back to listening. The nice part about this is that there are no interruptions or interferences, which brings me to the one negative point about satellite radio. I really wish the technology would magically improve somehow to make antenna interference a non-issue. Even if there was a considerably longer delay from real time it would be worth it. It always happens when I drive on the same roads surrounded by large trees, it cuts out. I think once that glitch gets fixed, satellite radio will have completely destroyed terrestrial radio.
In conclusion, Sirius satellite radio has been a blessing to me and I have benefited tenfold from the programming I listen to on this beautiful medium. Support free speech and uncensored art - get Sirius.
