I LOVED Bananas. When I was home from school on holidays I use to watch it religious at 9.05 every morning on the ABC. Right through high school until it was taken off air. Lousy red tape fat cats.

hey, you know I can't be nice to in a comment!
anyhow - great review, but I'm going to find where you live and kick you in the fanny (hey - everything I know about violence I learned from children's programming).
You have now stuck that stupid bananas in pajamas song in my head and it will be there all day. I had to suffer through that years ago when my oldest (now 14) was a toddler - but let's not tell her I said she use to watch that or she might start blubbering for no reason (ahhh - hormones aren't they hideous).
I use to watch with her in hopes that one morning one of the bananas would slip on it's own peel and tumble down the stairs - no such luck.

Ack I only saw Skippy in Fast Forward spoofs. Most of the time it was Skippy defusing a nuclear bomb and blowing up. I laughed anyway, but had no idea.

Things have obviously moved on since my day!
Nicely done - and we had a UK version of Playschool with Big Ted, Little Ted et al - the dolls are now housed in a local museum for all of us 30 somethings to swoon over!

I still don't get what "Catch you unawares" is supposed to mean. Whom are the bananas catching? I simply don't know WHAT i'd do if a banana in pajama *notice yank spelling* came down and caught me unaware. Something creepy about that. But what's more creepy than a show called Ferals about lonely animals on a dumpsite? That is pretty depressing.
But not as awful as HR Pufnstuf for nothing really is.
