Pros: Meets expectations for a while.

Cons: Plastic drive shaft didn't hold up to our use.

We bought it to "crush ice at any speed," and because it was a "KITCHENAIDE." It worked nicely for one year; the length of the warranty. Then, the drive shaft broke, again and again until all the hard plastic propeller pieces were gone.

I had crushed ice with it a minimum of three times daily for a solid year. I think that's unusual, with it's claims of "Ultra Power" and chopping ice at any speed, tho, the questions of "How much ice?" and "For how long?" also might be addressed.

I regret having spent 80-some dollars for only a year's use.

We replaced it with an under $40 Oster (with metal drive shaft and companion 3-cup food processing attachment), and a $12 individual "blend-n-go" tumbler with its own ice chopping attachment and blade (to blend sugar-free drink mix and ice for low-cal frozen treats). We'll see how the Oster holds up.
