Osterizer is a name that has been around for years and after trying many different blenders and them eventually failing on me, I decided to try the "original." I have tried Hamilton Beach, Rival and Cuisinart and had problems with them all. This one is truly a classic with a modern look. It is bee-hived shaped in a chrome color so it practically fits any kitchen decor. it really is a beautiful addition to my countertop and it is used quite frequently. It is a simple design with only two speeds but frankly sometimes simple is better. I have found over the past two years that I have owned it that two speeds is really all you need. My biggest problem with my other blenders is that the motor got over heated while trying to crush ice for frozen drinks. This blender crushes ice in no time flat without any hesitation or overheating and there are none of those ice chips that I was getting before just smooth crushed ice. The motor is a powerful 350 watts and I think the difference with the ice crushing is due to the fact that the spinner part inside this one is metal whereas the others I have owned wee plastic. The pulse feature works great for making smoothies or crushing tomatoes. I love this blender in both the way i looks and works and I would highly recommend it.
